    Default Birthday Dinner Suggestion (SOS)!

    Hello all,

I am excited to announce that within 24 hours of intense planning/preparation I am going to Disney for my birthday in January from the 2nd-6th

I am going with my sister, and we are doing a cheap Disney trip. Normally we do the dining plan, but we decided it's cheaper to share meals and splurge on one sit-down dinner to celebrate my birthday. With this in mind, I need your help!

Which sit-down to go to? I am looking for:
-Not too fancy restaurant (California Grill, Le Cellier, etc.)
-Characters or some special aspect to it (like viewing of Wishes)
-I would prefer a buffet or all you can eat style, but regular dining options are welcome
-It can be in a park, or in a hotel
    -dinner

Here is what I am considering (but please suggest other places):
    1. O'Hanas
    2. Cape May
    3. 1900 Park Fare
    4. Garden Grill
    5. Chef Mickey's

Any reviews, input, and suggestions are welcome! Thank you so much
"I want to be apart of your world."

Have you considered Tusker House. We are there a couple of weeks ago for dinner and the food was yummy (buffet) and the character interaction was the best I've ever experienced. We had a reservation for 6:30 which was one of the last times for the evening. It started clearing out shortly after we were seated, but the food never stopped being refreshed and the characters spent a lot of time with everyone since there were fewer guests.

You might also consider the Boathouse in Disney Springs. Not a buffet, but excellent food and sitting outside by the lake is great.

    Have fun.

On a side note, we actually decided to skip AK, and are not crazy about Tusker House. Also, The Boathouse is a bit out of our price range.

If it were me I'd get rid of Chef Mickeys, it's just too crazy in there and not a great buffet. The rest you have lined up are great, esp Cape May. Look at the Plaza in MK .... it's a must-do for us each trip !!

Crystal Palace is another character buffet that you may want to consider.

50's Primetime Cafe is a table service but it is very unique and a lot of fun.

Rose & Crown with Illuminations viewing! We've celebrated a couple birthdays there, and it has been wonderful.

Otherwise, Garden Grill is one of our favourites, and with the awesome character interaction, I think it would be a good place for a birthday.

We just did Cape May for my birthday. They made it a great night. Food was awesome. Then our server brought out a great birthday treat and card signed by several characters. She then had everyone sing happy birthday to me. It was so much fun! We go there every trip

Don't know if you made your decision yet, but I would pick Ohana. If I was to only pick one sit down meal for a Disney trip (birthday or not) it would be, without a doubt Ohana. Ohana for my birthday meal would be even better!!

Awesome news guys! So after looking day after day we were able to snag O'Hana's at 7:50 PM right before the 8 PM Wishes! Also, we added on the Garden Grille for breakfast I can't wait! Thanks for the suggestions and reviews.
