My husband and I are at ‘Ohana last night. It was my third dinner there but his first (we had breakfast there on a trip a few years ago and he was sad there is no Stirch at dinner!). We had 6:55 ADR but even after checking in early we still weren’t called until 7:15. We just killed time with a Lapu Lapu!

Our table was a window side two top overlooking the Volcano pool and a view of the Castle! I was thrilled and Husband was impressed, he said it reminded him of our cruise as we would often sit next to the window on our honeymoon and look out at the sea. We started with our bread and salad and ordered some drinks - a beer for me and a Walk the Plank for him. Our server was Cousin Edward and he was very good all evening. We nibbled at the salad and bread as I knew they were sucker bets and saved ourselves for the main event.

The platter of veggies, noodles, dumplings and wings came next and we served ourselves. The platter was piled high and we enjoyed everything on it. Chicken skewers cane next, we grill chicken thighs at home so we liked this but I know many prefer white meat. It was juicy and well seasoned. Then we waited and waited for more meat. The other tables around us hadn’t been visited with steak and shrimp yet, either. It wasn’t busy in there and the grill was churning out skewers, we were a little confused. Cousin Wd came by to ask if we needed more of anything and we asked for the steak and shrimp. He was surprised we hadn’t gotten any yet and quickly brought us some himself. The steak was cooked perfectly for our liking, medium, and the shrimp was ok. I don’t like peeling shrimp so that’s why it’s not high on my list.

All that was left after that was dessert, and well, where could that ever go wrong??! It was so good as always and my husband wanted to drink the rest of the caramel sauce out of the cup!

We settled up but weren’t ready to leave the resort yet. Husband needed to walk around a little to digest, lol! So we wandered down to the beach and got lucky with a great spot to watch Happily ever After. What a great show!! I haven’t seen it yet in the park, and it was so good even from the beach! It was a wonderful way to end our dinner and some lovely Disney magic on a non-Disney trip.

I had been excited for Husband to try this dinner and talked it up. A lot. I’m really happy he enjoyed it so much and now he gets why his coworkers at the show he’s doing down here this week were so jealous he was going without them. A five star review from a guy who is growing to appreciate Disney and is still skeptical. I think I have brought him around with this one. Tomorrow we hit Cali Grill, so if that doesn’t seal the deal, I don’t know what will.
