Being an early riser and traveling with folks from the West Coast is going to be an issue once we are in the same room but it allows for early morning trip report posting...

I was awakened yesterday by the sound of cats fighting and assuming it was ours I hopped out of bed only to realize it was coming from outside (we live in the boondocks) but I looked at the clock and it was 4:55am and the alarm was set for 5 so it was time to get up anyway.

I was on the road by 5:30am which is ideal if I need to pass through Atlanta. The drive down was uneventful and I packed snacks so I only stopped for gas and bathroom breaks and pulled into the Grand Floridian for my lunch ADR around 12:45. My ADR wasn’t until 1:10 so I strolled around, took a few pics, traded a few pins .

This was a “first” restaurant for me. I ordered a glass of wine (my reward for my drive) and the heirloom salad with apples along with the French Onion Soup. Both were good, large salad and small soup but it was just enough for lunch and the service was good. A nice quiet, cool place to have a relaxing lunch. I did another pass through the shops upstairs for pins and headed back to the car.

I had actually gotten my “room ready” text for All Star Movies at around noon so I went straight to the room. Not knowing exactly where the room was I ended up parking not in the perfect spot to haul all my junk to the room but it’s only for one night. After making three trips from the truck (I’m hauling a lot of stuff for other family members) I was hot and tired so I changed and headed to the pool for about an hour.

By then Mom and Dad had landed from Phoenix and were on Magical Express so I showered and changed and met them in the lobby. We got them settled and decided to head out to Disney Springs. I wanted to have a few cocktails so we took the bus. Lucked out both ways with very little wait. We hit up World of Disney but we held off on buying anything since I plan to upgrade my pass to an annual today.

Dinner was at Blaze Pizza and for $10 ea it was a great deal for a Disney dinner before we have a dining plan.

Everyone had been up early so I headed back to my room and watched a little tv and hit the hay by 9:30pm (thus the being up at 4:30am this morning roll eyes). I’m tempted to run over to the Studios for the 6am rope drop this am but we hope to meet for breakfast at 7 before swapping over to our DVC Studio at the Poly.

Off to Epcot today!
