    Default Early January Weather

What to pack and what to expect weather wise? I have been almost every month except for January. I know there are a few people who live in Florida and post here so any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

I have been in January a number of times. My best advice is to pack for a range of temperatures. I have seen high temps in the 80's with full sun and it was pretty hot during the middle of the day. Then after the sun sets it cools pretty quickly down into the 60's and with a breeze it can be a little chilly so you need a jacket or long sleeve shirt to put on. I have also seen a day or two where it is cloudy with light rain and a high in the 60's cooling into the lower 50's after the sun sets. Generally though the weather can be quite nice that time of year with sun and 70's during the day and cooling into the 60's after sunset.

I agree - you can never predict what January will be bring for weather. You might find temperatures in the 70s or low 80s though most mornings are much cooler. Or you might hit some rather chilly weather even during daylight hours. Pack for all eventualities. You may want more layers in the morning and the ability to shed some of those layers as temperatures rise during the day and then add the layers back on as temps cool during the evening hours.

Sounds like a NJ April/May timeframe weather then. I guess more packing than the normal.
I am just looking forward to no heat/humidity and looking for a/c to cool off.
On the way back stopping in HH, so I guess weather there would be a little bit cooler than FL.
    Thanks.

Hilton Head will be quite a bit colder than Orlando. It is far enough North that the upper part of cold fronts sweep through. You may have highs in the 50's or low 60's or even less and lows in the 30's or 40's or possibly lower there.

    Cool

I figured it would be a bit colder in HH that timeframe but a nice break after the parks.

We were visiting my DD last year in January and the temps ranged in the mid 30's at night with several days in the 60's. We also had several days in the low 70's. I must say it was very chilly at night. We were glad we had our warm jackets. We played mini golf one day with mittens on. Lol

I've been twice in January, and the temps were very different. Year #1, I didn't watch the weather report, brought 2 pairs of shorts and 2 pairs of long pants. Had to buy another pair of long pants (at Disney prices) and never needed the shorts. I even left AK after 3 hours one day, even though it's my favorite park, because I was freezing! It rained almost all week, with temps in the 40s and 50s.
The next year, it was in the 80s, I spent 9 hours in AK and the big difference was that I'd read the weather report. Wore shorts all week, and never needed long pants.

I've been during January 3 of the last 5 years. It's turning into my favorite time of year to visit. The packing isn't terrible, you just need to plan to wear layers. We usually went back to our room early afternoon and brought a sweater or hoodie with us for the evening.

I prefer having to wear layers and the option if it gets warmer to change than being hot and miserable.

Yes definitely. I used to like going for 4th of July fireworks plus the longer days in the summer but now, not so much. I would rather wear a few layers if necessary.
