    Question

We bought a personal mister at Wal-Mart the other day ($16) and was wondering if anyone here has used one before. It's not a mister fan. It's a bottle that you put water in, and it has an attached hose that you use to mist yourself. Does this work well in Orlando? Also, how long does it usually last on a hot July day? We are a family of four, so should we buy more than one?

    Thanks!

I saw one of these at BJ's (wholsesale club) last weekend. I didn't think I would like carrying that tank around and soaking myself. Tell us how you like it - I may have been wrong.

We bought mister fans last week at Zainy Brainy - a new toy store in our local mall. $5.99 each- less than half the price at WDW. When I looked for them at Wal-Mart one clerk didn't know what I was talking about and another just pointed in the general direction. Needless to say, I never found them and went somewhere else.

I found a tiny pocket sized fan at Wal-Mart for $1.50 that I used on my last trip. It wasn't a mister, though. I have always found the misters to be too heavy and bulky to carry. This one fit easily into my pocket and had rubber blades. But boy did it put out a GREAT breeze! Best $1.50 I ever spent!

We saw quite a few folks with the "personal mister" you are referring to. The tanks didn't look very large, but then again the mist uses very little water, and you can always refill it at a water fountain or restroom. The ones we saw were being carried like fannypacks (strap holding it at the small of the back) and the hose in most cases was clipped to the wearer's shirt sleeve.

We bought the misting bottles with attached battery-operated fans at the WalMart in Kissimmee for $4.84 each - - compare that to almost $17 in the parks for a nearly identical item!

I have used one during an August trip, and I can honestly say that I felt totally encumbered by it. Besides being really sad looking and making me feel older than my 32 yrs, it got in the way, and soon misted warm water. I dunno, give it a shot, but I made it through a good week with the Mister in my room.

A hint on the mister fans. I bought one at Zainy Brainy for $5.99, then found the same item (Mister Fan) for $1.99 (regular price) and Menards.
If you have a Menards in your area, you may want to check it out..

(I posted this under another thread, but thought it fit here as well )

    Thumbs up

We used the kind of squirting water mister fans last August with no problems and saw a lot of others with them too; it worked out great!

The splash of water is refreshing combined with the fan; you don't stay wet for long at all because the sun dries you off very quickly.

There were some WDW gift shops/kiosks in Epcot that even sold them last year.
