Has anyone received the Disney World 2005 Vacation Planning Video?

If you notice on both the commercial and the website it says that you can pre-order your planning video (DVD) now. This implies to me that they are not done with it yet. I know that it says to allow 4-6 weeks but I wouldn't hold my breath. They have a place on the website where you can view the video on-line but this is still last years. I have ordered mine, but am not holding my breath to get it within 4-6 weeks.

Actaully, it's one DVD and one CD-ROM, same difference.

Took a look at the DVD, not the whole thing, but many parts, and I can tell you I'm not that impressed with it at all. I'll dig a little deeper and see, but I think last years DVD was better.

Comes in a nice case, maybe I'll order a few more just for the case!

I ordered mine in december 04 and still have not reciecved mine but hopefully I will recieve it within the next two weeks. I really am looking forward to watching it since I am going in December. [img]graemlins/mickey.gif[/img]

I ordered mine about three weeks ago and it just came yesterday. I watched it with my DD and DS. I am not that impressed with it either. Way too much on the narrators and too little on the rides. The two previous ones I got were a lot better. However, any glimpse of Disney is better than none at all!
They also include a planning DVD. I haven't looked at that yet.

I received mine today and I too am not impressed.
Also I have problems with it playing straight through.
But it still was nice to see clips of WDW.
That guy on the bench is to much.

I thought it was just me!

I'm disappointed. It has that same frenetic pace as the Kryssa clips on resort TV. It's very superficial, but I guess it would be hard to impress people like us Intercoters, right?

For the WDW Newbie, it would probably be exciting. Even my six year old walked out of the room!

Just got mine today! I haven't had time to watch it - I'll probably take a look when I get home from work tonight at 3 am, lol. Although, I have to say, after hearing everyone else's opinions, I'm not all that excited to see it.

Watched the DVD today. Not my favorite but it's not too bad. What was odd was the guide map in the front of the case. The MK map omitted CoP and Timekeeper and that wasn't shocking. But Country Bear Jamboree wasn't listed either! I know that some don't care for this one but it's one of our family faves! My DD says Wendell is her best friend! I hope it wasn't a hint of something to come!

Also, everything has IASW listed as opening in May not March. Weird.

I got the video today, and I personally thought it was OK.

I agree that it didn't have as much emphasis on the rides and too much about the 'hosts' (which were very obnoxious to me).

The special features were the best part of it. They had little sections on each of the resorts, and a cute little trivia game which was actually pretty difficult.

I thought is was more like a special from the Travel Channel. It was very fast paced. I think someone watching it that has never been to WDW might find it a bit frustrating. But I really enjoyed it.

After further review, I am modifying my original review.

Yes, the main part is a little frenzied and over produced, BUT I love the sections on the hotels. I watched that for a while today, even though I know those places like the back of my hand!

The one interesting thing (to me) about the resort thing is that they clump the DVC resorts and Fort Wilderness as "Resorts with more" or something like that. DVC resorts aren't billed as such, but as bigger and better options. That was interesting to me.

I agree, But I hated the fact i was hearing the same thing word for word from last years vacation video but with more annoying hosts. I loved the asian lady in last years. Would have prefered to have had her again on it. Someone who could be less fake would have been better. They really really over did the excitment. [img]graemlins/doubleeek.gif[/img]
