Question What is the most generous thing a CM has ever done for you?

What is the most generous thing a CM has done for you?? 2 years ago 3 days before leaving for Disney my Mother fell and broke her arm so bad her bone came through her skin and required major surgery to repair with plates and pins. When my Husband and Son and I went (yes, we still went, she insisted, no trip insurance that year! Plus the hard part was over and she was finally resting comfortably) We decided we would cam cord people (guests and CM's) from all over saying something to my Mom. We even got the General Manager of the park to say something! One CM we asked to say "Hi" did and after asked what my Mom's favorite character was. We told her Mickey. She told us to wait a few minutes she would be back. She returned with a Mickey T-Shirt signed by all the characters. THe signatures were everywhere, front and back! It was such an amazing experience. It brought tears to my eyes that someone was so very generous. I was wondering if anyone else received any type of special surprises on one of their trips??

Last September we arrived at Pop at 1pm but our luggage didn't make it to our room til after midnight We were supposed to go to Cap'n Jack's for my B-Day but had to cancel because we had no change of clothes or anything we needed to shower, etc. After numerous calls and trips to the luggage check in with no luck I went to the front desk to complain. The CM apologized and said he would contact the Liberty Tree Tavern (where our next ADR was) and have them do something special as well as something from the resort. The next day at the LTT we were getting close to finishing our meal and talking to our waiter. My B-Day disaster was brought up and he felt bad. LTT obviously didn't get any message from Pop but it was water under the bridge. Next thing I know one of the managers of the Disney Restaurants came to our table with a whole B-Day cake and apologized. It was very sincere and I told her she didn't have to do that because it wasn't her fault it was because of the Magical Express. She understood but insisted that as a Disney CM she make up for it. As we were eating the cake she returned and said she's friends with the manager at Cap'n Jack's and could get us a table which ever day we had open, and did so. I'll never forget that.

Last time I went to WDW I was having problems with my pal mickey, so I took it to the Dark Room at MGM. The cast members there were wonderful, they tried new batteries, they tried rebooting him, but I guess there was trouble with his wiring, so they replaced him with a brand new pal mickey. I thought that was trully wonderful of them and great customer service. Afterwards I asked the cast member who was so wonderful to me if we could pin trade. He said of course and I traded for his Belle. After the trade was complete, he said the Belle needed a friend so he gave me a hidden Mickey Cinderella pin! I thought it was so sweet, he had me sign his autograph book and gave me a magical moment certificate. It was definately the most generous cast member moment/ magical moment I've had at the parks.

    Default Disney Animator CM Magic!

My wife and I were on our Honeymoon in Sept of last year. At the end of the night after the fireworks in MGM we went into the Magic of Animation for the last show. After leaving the show, we went into the area where you draw a character with an animator.

Since it was the last show, we ended up being the only 2 in there with the artist.

When we told her it was our honeymoon, she got very excited. She asked us what WE wanted to draw. When we told her Stitch was our favorite, she said he was her specialty and showed us both how to draw him (my wife's was perfect, mine was uhmm.. well not). She didn't rush us at all and after we were done, she wrote "Congratulations **** and ****, signed it and gave it to us.

It is now hanging in our guest room with pride and remains one of our favorite memories of Disney and our Honeymoon.
It's gonna be the future soon
I won't always be this way

We had an ADR at Kona for dinner the night of our arrival during our trip in June, 2006. Our DS is a very picky eater and doesn't like much of anything.

Noticing that DS, 22 months at the time, wasn't eating very well, our server actually sat down beside him and personnally fed him his dinner. Shortly there after, having a nice full belly, he fell asleep on my lap before we even got to dessert. She certainly didn't have to take the time, but it was important to her.

It was certainly very memorable for both DH and myself. CM DO care about their guests!

As I believe a person's time is very valuable, I think this was very generous.

Last year my wife and I went to MNSSHP and made the mistake of taking the ferry to the TTC instead of heading to our bus. I thought there would also be busses there and I really wanted to take the ferry at night before we came home, But it was past midnight, and when we got to the TTC all there was was ONE bus and his shift was over. He was chatting with a co-worker about to leave. I explained what happened, and he said "Where's your resort?" - "All star Movies" - "Well get in! I'll take ya" and he drove us "home" to our resort. Door to door service.

I wrote to WDW Guest Services to highly commend him.

    Default La Nouba Rocks!

Back in 2001, we splurged on our first-ever "all inclusive" trip to WDW which included tickets to La Nouba. Being several pounds heavier then than now, when we were seated, I found that it was very uncomfortable for me and knew that I could not spend the entire show that way. Of course, I was devastated and wanted to leave immediately. On the way out, a really nice CM saw that I was upset, and asked what the problem was. I was embarrased to say, but finally told her. She said not to worry, she had the perfect spot for us to watch the show. She then proceeded to lead us up to the balcony where there were actual chairs to sit in. She explained that this area was usually reserved for "VIP" guests and that she felt that we fit that bill. We enjoyed the show so much, and were very comfortable. Just before the final curtain, she arrived at our seats with an official La Nouba clown nose and presented it to us. She told us that we were officially a part of the La Nouba family now! We will never forget that kindness.

My brother was sick with a bad ear infection during our vacation in 1996. He was only three-years-old at the time.

When a Cast Member at Port Orleans (now called Port Orleans French Quarter) learned about Justin's condition, he or she sent a care package up to our room.

Later in the day, Mickey Mouse made an appearance in our room.

The first year I brought an ECV from home, DH didn't think to bring a small tool kit to tighten cables, etc. My scooter kept jerking to a stop, and DH realized he needed some help with it. He didn't want to spoil the whole afternoon messing with it, so he asked the rental place if they could find a place to "park" it, and then asked to rent a WC. The wonderful CM's not only gave him the WC rent free, they fixed the scooter while we were out having fun.

    That's above and beyond !

Some of these stories are so amazing! Mine aren't as exciting, but meant so much to my kids.

On my oldest DD's 5th birthday, we had breakfast at CRT. At one point, she made a remark about wishing she could see Tink and I explained again about how Tink's wings are too fragile to be out and about. Aurora was at the next table over. As we left and were walking down the stairs, we heard a sweet, high-pitched "Tinkerbellllll!" from above and then felt the pixie dust raining down on us. (Another Intercottee was there and said that Aurora had excused herself quickly from their table to rush over and do that-- how cool!)

Later that week, we were waiting for Spectro and my kids were playing with their light up toys. A sweet CM walked over to DS, who was 3, and asked if she could see his. She swapped it out for one that was lighting up better. We hadn't even realized there was anything wrong with it. DS talked about it for weeks.

    1) We had the same problem with a pal mickey. So they gave us a new one. I tried to give them the broken one back and they said just keep it.

    2) Our last trip our plane was 3 hours late getting in. We were checking in at ASM and i was looking at my watch. The CM asked if everything was ok. I told him we were late getting in and wanted to get on a ride before our dinner reservation. He said dont worry about it. After finishing checking us in he said come with me. We went in a van and he took us to the park. Walked us to Space Mountain. We got in the fast pass line and went to dinner.

We missed the fireworks cruise, because the reservationists gave us the wrong time to show up at the dock. A really LONG story short, the CM at the Contemporary set us up in a suit with a view of the fireworks and all the food and drink we could have . What made what she did amazing, is that this was not part of her job. The fireworks cruise does not fall under the Contemporary. She is just the resort manager. She went well above and beyond her duty’s to make our group of 12 people happy !! Pure Disney magic!

During our last trip DH and I had numerous wonderful things that CM did out of their way. DH were on our honeymoon, so I guess we stood out a bit more.

When DH and I arrived at MK for the first time, we arrived at the gates early. A CM that was standing by the ADRs entry called us over. She asked us about when we got married, why we choose to go to WDW, etc. and she asked if we had an ADR for a restraunt. I told her no, she said go to Crystal Palace. She said there should be no wait and they will sit us immediately. She let us in the park early. We took some pictures then walked over the Crystal Palace and sure enough, they sat us immediately!!!

Another wonderful CM went out of their way to make our trip special. DH and I were at MGM Studios and we arrived at Fantasmic! a bit late. We noticed a bench in the front and center empty and we tried to get at the spot, and a CM stopped us briefly. The CM mentioned that the spot was reserved for certain people only. Then the CM asked if if we were on our honeymoon and how long. The CM talked to another CM and then they agreed that DH and I could have the bench to ourselves. It was great that we didn't have to wait forever for a good spot and got the best seat in the house.

Don't know if this counts as generous??

In 2002 the first time we stayed onsite and the first "real vacation" we spent at DW the concierge at the poly told us to try CG. (I asked for the "nicest place to eat where I could take DD4 and not wear a tie")

Needless to say we knew nothing about the restaurant or it's fireworks viewing area or really anything... We were green...

Just after dinner and while we were waiting for dessert to arrive a cm/hostess came to the table and asked Maggie DD4 if she wanted to "Start the Fireworks"
We said sure .... I had no Idea what she meant so I went with her...

The cm told me that (then at least) Cindy's castle changes color alerting people the fireworks are going to start in one or two minutes. Well DD got to hit the switches that turned off the house lights ... was escorted to the front window and .... you guessed it BOOM the fireworks started...

She got a thankyou card signed by the staff on duty thanking her for "starting the fireworks"

Just another amazing memory I'll/we'll never forget

We stayed offsite but my sister and BIL were staying at one of the resorts so we’d drive over to meet them at their room and then take the busses to the parks each morning (I know not technically Dis-legal). One morning we decided to stop off at DTD for something, I can’t remember what now, and since they were heading to the parks early we decided to just catch a bus to one of the resorts and then meet up with my sis later in the day.

Well, we waited for 30 minutes, buses would come in but none left, there was no one else but us there waiting. One of the bus drivers had pulled up while we waited, she took her break then came over and chatted with us. We told her that we were just waiting to go to any resort then head to EPCOT and she offered to take us to Pop, where she was scheduled to go to next. We had the entire bus to ourselves, she told us lots of little facts as we would drive by thing and she was a wealth of knowledge about the parks. We had the most delightful conversation with her and once we reached Pop she asked us to wait just a minute and she handed my 6 y/o son an official Disney Bus Drivers License. He was soo excited and still talks about it (this happened in 04).

    Default chicken soup

During our trip in '97, the next to last day we were there I got really sick and stayed in bed that morning. We were staying at CBR. I was asleep around 11o'clock when mousekeeping came in. She asked how I was feeling and told me to just get some rest.
About 15 to 20 minutes later she came back with a big bowl of the best chicken noodle soup I think that I've ever had. She told me if I needed anything to call and she would bring right to me.
The soup did the trick. I was back at the parks that evening.
I don't think I'll ever forget her kindness.

    Default ASM Magic

We were GREEN Disney-goers at our first resort stay. When we were checking in at ASM, my daughter was wearing her Jasmine shirt, carrying a Jasmine doll....

The CM checking us in told us where/when we could meet Jasmine IN PERSON. And Alladin too but, DD was too shy to talk or meet him (a little crush, I think)

Then she asked us if we were going to have a princess breakfast? "What's that" I said. Needless to say, it was the best surprise.

There are many many nice things that cast members have done for us, too numerous to count.

This one just popped into my head.

On our trip in 2000 my son discovered pin trading. He was 6 or 7 at the time. One of his favorite pins fell off his lanyard somewhere. I spotted s CM with the same pin and I told her that my son had lost that pin and asked her if she could wait a minute while I called him over so he could trade for it. When he got there she refused to trade for the pin he lost she insisted on giving it to him taking nothing in return.

One year, me, my mom, and my sister had reservations at the resturant at the Wide World of Sports complex, and we were running behind schedule to make it. I forget where we were located, but we were at a place where we would have to get to another bus stop to transport us over there. We get on the bus to take us to the Carribean, since it was the closest thing, and we were the only ones on the bus. The bus driver started talking to us, and when he heard what we were doing, he changed route for us and dropped us off at the Sports Center!

It was a really sweet thing for him to do, and I will always remember how kind he was to my family.
