I agree! And I think I'm the only one who doesn't like the Haunted Mansion turning into the Nightmare Before Christmas. The colors are too bright and its way too perky! LOL

The Parade of Dreams floats wouldn't be able to fit down Main Street under the garland so as they plan for the taping of the parade, they don't put up the garland until the resort has regularly begun running the Christmas Fantasy parade.
Still, it's not as odd as sometimes seeing a small section of the resort like Main Street decorated in Christmas decorations (as it was last year which really puzzled some guests in late spring/early Summer I think it was for a few days) for a promotional shoot.
I don't think they do it the same day every year. We were there a couple of years ago the weekend before Thanksgiving and they were filming it then. I got to be on t.v. Christmas morning for about 5 seconds! WooHoo!

Two years ago it was Oct. 26th and about 90F
outside. The reindeer weren't so energetic that day.
It was 90 degrees the year they filmed the weekend before Thanksgiving when we were there too! Everyone was in shorts and tank tops with Mickey Christmas ears! I felt so sorry for the performers that had to dress like it was winter time!

Oh, and let me add that I think decorations go up way too early as well.
We were there the second week of November last year, and it's just too darn early to start thinking about Christmas. I missed the park being "normal". But apparently the tree we were seeing on Main Street for a few days was just a figment of our imagination.
