    Default Is it just me...

...or was it this past weekend? We just got back on Sunday, I found it much more crowded than last year. The MNSSHP was sold out on Fri and it wasn't that bad, a little more crowded than the one I went to last year, but do-able. BUT sat at EPCOT F&W ... even the didn't keep the lines down there was a 15-20 min wait just to order for most of the kiosks for the different countries. There was even a 30 min wait for single riders for Test Track @ 11am. I spoke with my Dad who was in the orlando area that day and said even the traffic was really bad.

With that said, as much as I love MNSSHP I don't see me going back this time of year . I think I will give Jan another shot.

I agree. I was at Epcot last Friday 10/26 and went to Sunday night's MNSSHP. Both seemed a little crowded to me (for this time of year).

We just had friends come home on Sunday from a week at WDW and the first thing they said was how HOT and CROWDED it was. We were there early in the month and would describe it the same way. The only advantage is that we figured it would be with the holiday weekend in there, so weren't taken off guard. It convinced me never to go in October on purpose again, though. I like your January idea......that's our favorite time to go!

I have a question those that were there may be able to answer. Were there a lot of foreigners there? I think there are far more international travelers due to the value of the dollar. I think this may have some to due with it. The other reason is it is a great family vacation place. You can get houses right outside WDW for about $1000 a week. Some of these can fit 3 families. At that cost, going to WDW is not expensive at all. The expensive part of WDW is the resort prices.

    Cool

When we were down for the I-Cot 10th earlier in the month, I thought it was pretty crowded ... especially on the weekends.

I think the YoaMD has really been gangbusters for them. I mean the fact that they've extended it a year, the lack of cheap rooms (or in some cases any rooms), etc. all leads me to believe that it's been a smash.

Also, I think the ever-expanding ranks of DVC members are contributing, too. I suspect the days of slow times of the year and 5 minute wait times are behind us now.

I just returned on the 26th (was there 10-21/26). I was always told how uncrowded it was and 5-10 min. waits etc. Part of the problem that week was our school's and several others in the IN area. I saw and knew alot of families that were down there for the week. Fall Break (week off) is a new phenomenon for the last 10 years and most families can take off this time of year easier than in the summer when everyone takes time off. I do agree that going this late in October is going to be busy from here on out. Maybe mid Sept. would be a better time or if you want MNSSHP go end of Sept.

I don't think it's just fall breaks and the YOAMD....

We were there the first week of October 2005, and the crowds were bad. We were shocked at how incredibly long the lines were (120 min for Soarin', 90 min for ToT, 120 min for TT, 90 min for M:S, 90 min for RnRC, 90 min for Peter Pan, etc.). MNSSHP was packed (crowds seemed worse than Halloween night in 2004), and it was only a Tuesday night.

We haven't been back in October since.

We were there from Thurs 10/25 thru mon 10/29 and, with the exception of Saturday afternoon in MGM, we found the crowds to be okay. I gauge the crowds by the Soarin' wait time. It was 40- 50 minutes on Sunday and that's very low for that! Also, we took FULL advantage of our Fastpasses. They saved us some waits for the big rides like Space Mountain(70 minutes on Sat.) and other rides that we refuse to wait more than 20 mintes for.

We have our Food and Wine secrets that we won't reveal, though! We ate around the World 3 times and never waited more than 5 minutes for any food.
And the food was extra good this year. We ate at some kiosks 3 times.

We were there the 19th to the 28th and I have to say it was crowded a lot more than we expected Fri through Monday. Tues, Weds, Thurs were GREAT! Very low crowds.

If you gauge it by the Soarin' wait the 20th the wait most of the day was above 180 mins. We went in the morning too! Around 11 am it was at 230 mins. I thought that it was a mistake and I asked a CM and they told me the park was very crowded (more so than for that time of year) and that the day before the MK was closed to capacity. I never expected the MK to close to capacity in Oct!!

I just came back yesterday and I'll tell you how the crowds were in the parks I went to.
Sunday Oct. 28t MK didn't seem too crowded to us. Longest wait for us was 20 minutes for PPF and that was what the sign said but I know it was shorter than that. We waited 10 minutes for Slash and Thunder Mtn.
Monday Oct. 29th Epcot was not bad at all because it was raining off and on but we just opened our umbrellas and kept on going. The longest wait time was 40 minutes for Soarin but that is short for that one. We walked right on to alot of rides and I think MS and Test track had no more than 20 minute waites. We could not believe how empty it was for Illuminations. We just stopped 5 minutes before it started and there were only a few people in front of us. Not all packed in like sardines. DD's were dancing around while waiting.
You get the idea. AK had really increased in crowd size since EE but we got onto KS in 20 minutes and Dinousour about the same. We walked onto TS and Bugs Life and fast passed Everest because it was a 40 minute wait. This park always seems so congested to me and it seems like every thing is so spread out.

We found low crowds all week until Friday night at Epcot and it was packed!!!!! We could not believe how it had changed in just a few days. We definately will avoid Friday nights and Saturdays from now on.

It seemed really crowded when we went, but the rides weren't terribly long waits. Longest we probably waited for was Kilimanjaro Safaris which was around noon and about a half hour wait. MNSSHP on the 30th was sold out so the tick-or-treat lines were crazy, but Space Mountain was a walk on the entire party. Very strange just walking through the entire line not seeing one person, almost a little creepy. The most I saw Soarin was around a 40 minute wait.
