Good and Bad of Coronado Springs
We are considering the CS for a stay the first week of February. I don't know anything about the resort. We have stayed at POR and POFQ several times and wanted to try s new moderate.
What are the crowds like this time of year?

The great thing about CSR is the fact that you NEVER feel like it is crowded. Why? Because it's huge! CSR is my favorite Disney resort because you feel like you are alone in paradise (it's GORGEOUS!). Request the Cabanas (Bldg 9), since it's closer to El Centro. The Casitas (and some Ranchos bldgs) will be a nice 10+ min walk from El Centro back to your room. Also, most Cabanas rooms have a beautiful view of the lake. The Pepper Market is delicious, and the Maya Grill is a VERY underrated Table Service restaurant.
People's biggest complaint is the fact that there's always convention goers (because CSR has one of the two convention halls). I feel this is a good thing, because many of them DONT GO TO THE PARKS...AKA...your bus will never be completely full! On top of that, from all the parks, CSR is usually one of the first bus stations! I can keep going, but I'll stop here. You'll love CSR, just as I have. DO IT!

Coronado Springs Resort is my favorite moderate. Because it does cater to convention goers, it has a number of amenities that you usually only find in the deluxe category.
Early February is a great, uncrowded time to go. As you get closer to the Presidents Day weekend, crowds increase considerably with huge crowds beginning over Presidents' day weekend and week!

I stayed at Coronado Springs late February of this year in the Casistas, see signature, and I absolutely loved it! I went the week after President's day. So the crowds were at about a medium level. Like the other posts said, its great for crowd control. I don't think early in February would be bad. But Coronado Springs has kind of a Worldshow case in Epcot feel. It's spread out around a lake so you wouldn't feel the squeeze of other guests. Main pool is great, plus the quiet pools are in each section so you wouldn't feel the crunch at all there either.
The service was excellent. Our room was cleaned daily and refilled with towels, soaps, etc. I loved the theme and music. Each section of Coronado was very well done. I say go for it!

To me the drawback was the place is huge. Make sure you get a room close to a bus stop and close to the main building. We loved the food court and the quiet pools. The main pool is chaotic.

I've never stayed at CSR myself but I have always wanted to. The new downfall is that if you're on the DDP, the gratuity in your CS meals will NOT be included. So, you'll have to pay for it anytime you eat there.
Try and do a search for the CSR website that someone created. It's great!!!

its at the top of my mod fav place.
big. buses run around it so u can hop a bus to the main building if you dont want to walk.
poss less families cause it is convention. buses didnt seem as crowded as at other places.
the food court is pretty good. you can get it to take out if u dont want to eat in & pay a service charge.
business center so you can get internet access.
theres a new/bigger bar area being added.
the lake is nice & the pool
it is big though.

Definately give it a shot.
We loved this resort. The food choices in the Pepper Market far exceed the choices of the food courts in any other moderate.
The grounds really didn't feel that much bigger than CBR but are far more beautiful. A walk around the lake at night is simply gorgeous.
The main pool area is terrific. It is large enough to accomodate a large crowd, but we never had any issues with it being overly crowded.

Sorry to be a wet blanket but my family and I did not like this resort and we will never stay there again.
1) We reserved a room by the lobby and has a confirmation and then they put us way in the back- took us 20 min to walk to the food court and back.
2) Food court was confusing, and unorganized. The different service lines were diffucult to decipher where they began.
3) There were swarms of "love bugs" every time we waited at the bus stop. The buses also took forever to get there and we never once saw one for Typhoon Lagoon.
The plus side was the pool was nice, and the lobby was beautiful but that's about it.
