Default Is it Okay to celebrate your anniversary a month late?

DH and I will be going to WDW in December 6-14(we want to see all the christmas decorations). Our 7 year wedding anniversary is November 3. Is it okay to get the anniversary buttons or should we just pass on it?

    Thanks

I have been wondering the same thing sort of. My neice will be celebrating her birthday one week after we return home from Disney. Part of the trip is a bday present (BBBoutique and disney dollars) but I feel that it is not right to represent it as her actual birthday because it isn't. I have been wondering if there is a way to celebrate without being misleading.

I'm glad to see this post I am taking my DD for her birthday early since her actual birthday is on Presidents day I didn't want to risk the crowds. We are setting a day aside to do Akershaus breakfast and that was when we were going to get the pin.

Let's put it this way. When we were there in July for our anniversary, and wore the anniversary buttons, everyone (that asked us when it was) was rather surprised that it was our actual anniversary day.
If the honeymooners can wear their buttons for weeks afterward, then you can wear your anniversary button a month after. You're celebrating then, and that's what counts. Same for the birthdays, if that's when it's being celebrated, then by all means, wear the button then.

I suppose you can celebrate it anytime you choose, it doesn't necessarily need to be the "actual"day. Your not getting over on anyone, your not getting anything free, your not taking something for nothing, so feel free to let everyone know that your in a celebration mood......

We are close. We are there one week before our 50th anniversary and plan on it being our anniversary trip.

Sure, why not! You're there to celebrate the occasion, so it doesn't matter if it's a month later.

We're going for our anniversary in April, so enjoy!!!

Our DD was born on Pres. Day of '05. Last year we celebrated at Disney, but no way was I gonna ask the family to be there on that weekend! So we went a couple weeks early when it was still value season, and when the family was available.

The kind of treats you get for wearing a pin are small, like a cupcake, card, or birthday song, etc.

My DH & I celebrated our 1 year anniversary on our most recent trip in Nov/Dec '07 and our actual anniversary was in July. This trip was our anniversary trip...just a few months late since we wanted to go during the Holiday season.

we too face anniversary dilemma. Going 2 wks in April. 34th A.is in June. Wasn't going to ask for button but would like some physical symbol of our survival that we can laugh about.

All the trips to WDW have never been close to the celebration time. Would be nice to see the buttons on each other and just grin in rememberences. Like we both forgot our 13th even though we discussed it 2 months prior. It was August before one of us said.....did we do anything special this yr.....

Travel agent booked us into Honeymoon suite at WL ( we'd requested concierge floor) He said it was the only room available when we booked in November. Feel really guilty about taking a room away from true honeymooners. It's such a special time. Any suggestions on what to do?

Go ahead, celebrate it. We did. It's when you are celebrating, not necessarily the date it occured.

My sister's birthday is Feb 23, my stepfather is March 15, my mom's is March 23, and mine is March 31.

We plan one trip and all get buttons. And when they ask "Is it really all of your birthdays?" we all pull out our IDs and show them, after explaining why we only make one trip for all of them.

So yes, you can celebrate earlier or later. Just go and have fun.

My wife and I are planning an anniversary DCL vacation for august because we will both be in school during our actual anniversary in June. Do what you will, as long as it's special for the two of you!!!

They have said in the past that we should let them know that it is our birthday when we book for special surprises if it happens while we are there. Are there actually surprises or just the buttons and a couple of little things like that? My birthday is the day before we leave and I have ALWAYS wanted to celebrate while we are there!!!! Should I talk to them about it? I mean when we book....is that misrepresenting myself.

I think so long as the purpose of the trip is to celebrate an occasion that it doesn't matter if the occasion actually falls during that period.

I think however that you should try to restrain yourself with the length of time of the celebration, and choose one day to celebrate the occasion rather than the entire trip. I know others don't necessarily agree with that, but the little special touches that Disney sometimes does will likely become even fewer if everyone overdoes their celebrations.
