I'm thinking it's not true, but I read this on an ebay "Easter Egg" page:

"Inside Disneyland's Haunted Mansion ride, there are various portraits of ghosts throughout the mansion portion of the ride. Before entering the big black room with the floating crystal orb, there are two portraits of Eddie, Iron Maiden's mascot, on your left side."

Somehow - although I'm a huge fan of Maiden - I don't think the imagineers would insert ol' Eddie into a ride.

I'm a Iron Maiden fan as well and wish it to be true but something tells me that it probably is not. Either way I'll be looking for it when I go to DL next month.

Okay...maybe it ISN'T Eddie...but it certainly looks like him from the first album!

My guess is this is some Imagineers idea of a good joke; make it look enough like Eddie to get us guessing but not so much that they have to announce it or anything.
