Default The Knights Storm the Castle - Day 8 / Final Park Day

    Cast:
    Me, DH - Phil, DD13 - Stephanie (also an Intercotee - Pixiepower330), and DD8 - Megan

    Extras:
dolphinmickey9170 and family - Kristen, Ben, Katy, and Keara
    CaptainJessicaSparrow - Jessica

Today we have an early seating at Chef Mickey's - 7:45a. I tried to change it to something later but no such luck. I set the alarm but after only 5 1/2 hrs of sleep, I accidentally shut it off when it rang so we didn't wake up until 8:30a. Oops! We headed over to MK where it started to pour down rain just as the bus was nearing the Contemporary. It was really coming down! We waited in the bus station until it lessened some but it still rained and rained all morning. Kristen's family had a late breakfast at Chef Mickey's so they were meeting us later. We poked around in the shops on Main Street then headed over to Space. While in line, we decided to try for lunch at the Plaza Restaurant so I called the dining line and secured an ADR for 1p. We exited the ride to discover it was still raining rather hard. The girls had ponchos but I left mine and Phil's at CSR. I'm too cheap to buy the Disney ones so we waited it out a bit. Shortly before time for our ADR it let up slightly so we headed over for lunch. The food at the Plaza was great - I'd definately eat there again. During lunch the rain finally stopped - yea!!! Megan wanted to see Jasmine so we headed over to Adventureland and I wanted to ride the riverboat so we headed there next. Kristen was to meet us there after we rode but I got a text from her saying Keara was really fussy and they went back to their resort instead - perhaps we'll meet them after their dinner instead. We wandered through Fantasyland, stopping for another ride on IASW - I don't find the song annoying at all! We headed into Toontown where we rode Barnstormer then wandered into Minnie's house. The place was packed! We couldn't even enjoy it. We headed into County Bounty to check out the lines for the character rooms. Megan wanted to see the Princesses - the posted wait was 75 min! I asked the CM there if it really was that long of a wait as the line didn't look that long - he said it was. We left to wander the store but the look of disappointment was so great on Megan's face though that we went back and got in line anyway. To our great surprise, 20 min later we were standing in the Princess room! I told the CM there about the wait time posted but she said it was probably because they had a long line earlier in the day. Megan was thrilled because we saw Aurora, Cinderella, and Belle. I'm so glad we waited! We headed back out to Fantasyland where the girls rode the Teacups then I wanted to ride the train from the Main Street station all the way around the park. We wanted to go through the Castle but their was a stage show going on so we started around the side to discover Fairy Godmother greeting guests. We walked past the Liberty Square bridge which was blocked off for refurbishment - wait, there was NO BRIDGE! The entire surface had been removed and was being rebuilt. We made it to the train and as we passed Frontierland, Megan decided she wanted to ride BTM again so we stayed on and rode all the way back to Frontierland again. We grabbed some FPs and went to Pecos Bill's for dinner. By the time we were done eating, it was time for "the wildest ride in the wilderness". We continued to wander around and rode a few more things but all too soon, it was time to go. We never did meet up with Kris's family again today. We went back to our resort and started the terrible task of packing to go. Tomorrow morning, we'll be on the road for home.

You missed some of the best breakfast pizza and pb and j pizza in the world! YUMM-O. (Sorry Rachel)

I'm really stupid sometimes, I didn't realize that was your last park day. Keara was really starting the fussies and we just couldn't settle her down. We just went back to the room and "chilled" out for a while, that seemed to help her. Althought, we didn't realize this was the beginning of the end....of our vacation as well.

I guess all that rain rather fit the mood of the last sad day day in the parks. I am sorry that you were not able to meet up with Kristin's family again, but at least Megan was really lucky in meeting all the princesses! Thanks for reporting, Kathy.
