Default What happens next with the Castle

Now that we've had Year Of A Million Dreams, and the wonderful, ultimate prize of a night in the castle, what will happen with the suite? Will it still be occupied nightly, or will Disney do something else with the space?

Just wondering. If it were available to book, how much would you pay?

It's interesting ... when we won the night in the suite the hot rumor among the Dream Squad we dealt with was that it was going to be rented out after the celebration for $10,000 a night.

Personally, I don't see that happening. That's kind of a potential PR disaster. My guess is they'll publicly use it for special situations (like maybe Make-A-Wish) and perhaps on the sly rent it out to celebs and the uber-rich for big bucks.

But at this point, nothing official has been announced. It wouldn't surprise me terribly if they kept up awarding it randomly to guests, though. That's a good draw, I think.

The official word from Disney is they can't discuss it until the end of the YOAMD giveaways.

Maybe Cinderella will move back in. Where has she been sleeping for the last 2 years?

    Good Question!!

Our tour guide mentioned this on our Keys to the Kingdom tour. She said Disney had been offered thousands of dollars from celebrities, political types, etc. to spend the night in the castle. According to her, Disney has told them all no. The guide then stated it would be used with the Make-a-Wish group and other groups similar to that. I hope that is true.

I agree that using it as a special treat for groups like Make a Wish sounds like a great idea!

It would also be nice if they continued to surprise random people with a night in the castle - maybe newlyweds who either get married at WDW or go on their honeymoon??

Good question. Maybe if the next years promotion is celebrating special things like birthdays and such, maybe since you register your birthdays and visit maybe they will have a random drawing for a birthday person to stay in the castle. Of course you would have to be in the park. Okay probably not, but I can dream. I

That's what the Dream Squad folks told us, as well. They said they'd even turned down offers for like free concerts from performers, free endorsement deals, etc.

I highly doubt that WDW will rent the room. If they do, it would only be available to the extremely wealthy and I doubt that is what they imagined it for. I would not be surprise if they continue to give it out as a random Dream to someone every few days.

I like this idea. Especially with the Celebrate You promotion coming up they could let people who register on their birthday to win the night. That'd be a great present.

I am a WDW nut like many of you...I would pay probably for a once in a life time stay at Cindy's castle...um...5K! I sure Disney will never make it into a real hotel room and the chance for the average Joe like me to get a crack at staying there would be VERY rare. I like the Make-A-Wish idea and a lottery of sorts to select a family to stay.

I watched a show on Travel channel something like the "Behind Disney" series, and they were saying that you could rent a nights stay in the suite. I don't know if this was prior or after million dreams but they said you could.

man thats gotta be a pain for disney though. According to what I've heard from winners. There are CMs that have to escort you to and from your room and that you are under surveilance so you can't sneak out into the park. Imagine having to have a CM do that every night...ugh!

I had heard that they were turning it over to the 'Make a Wish' foundation. I don't know if there's any truth to that, but it does seem like an appropriate use....

    Default imo

I think the idea of Make A Wish or other charitable organizations being able to use the room would be a much nicer option for Disney than selling it out to celebrities and the such. In my "public opinion" I think that would hold a higher opinion than selling it to the highest bidder (or renting).
