MVMCP - How are they handling sweeping the park & getting people wrist bands?
Hi All,
With all the changes to wrist band policies does anyone know how MK is handling sweeping the park before MVMCP this year? I know in past years we have had to leave the park, go to tomorrow land to get our wrist band and last year for MNSCHP people were allowed to stay in the Main Street area even if they didn't have a wristband. There are two other families that have already purchased their tickets that we are trying to coordinate meetings. Some of us will already be in the park that day and others will be arriving in town that day so we thought some pre-knowledge would help us out.
We are waiting to buy our tickets until we have a better idea of the weather as we got rained out one time. This year with a total of 6 little children in 3 families we really don't want to get tickets and try to trudge through the party if the weather is not good. Our youngest is just 2 years old and night time in the rain just doesn't seem like the best option. If we can't get the party to work we are planning on visiting the Contemporary to watch the fireworks.

There is no sweeping the park before the party starts. The way they do things is come 7pm, CMs will start looking for wristbands. And anyone without a wristband will be directed to the exit. They will not be allowed to do anything in the MK (go into a shop, get food, ect).

We were asked to show our wristbands like every 50 feet up until about 8:30. It started to get annoying after a while!!! LOL!

I went to the first MVMCP on Nov. 10. I was wondering whether they were going to use wristbands since they are not using them for EMH. They did use bright pink wristbands for the first MVMCP. We were permitted to enter the park at 4 pm., as usual. Since party started at 7 pm, the CMs at the rides would look for the pink bands. If your long sleeves covered the band, they would ask to see it. Many CM throughout the park were watching the wristbands and when 7 pm approached, they asked the people without wristbands to leave MK and made sure that happened.

We also went to the party on Nov 10th. We entered the park shortly after 4pm and got our bright pink wrist band as we entered. For the people that were already in the park they had a station set up at the Tommorrowland bridge to hand out wrist bands (there may be more locations but this is the only one we passed). Lines were quite long at 6:30 but they seemed to be moving quickly. Starting around 6:30 we heard announcements over the speakers advising people they had to leave the park by 7pm if they did not have a ticket for the party. We just all showed our wrists as we entered each ride so we would not be bothered with being stopped. It worked smoothly for us.

If you purchased a ticket for the MVMCP, you will be given a wristband. This wristband should be visible during the entire party or the CM will ask to see it. If you did not purchase a ticket for the MVMCP, at 7 pm you will be asked to leave MK. CMs all over the park will be guiding these people to the exit of the park. There is no staying inside the park at all. People who have paid for the party are permitted to stay. I have never heard of allowing people without bands to stay in the park on Main Street. Only people that have paid for the party may stay.

I read a report on another site that said Main St was very crowded early on with people staking out spots for the first parade, and that from what they could see it seemed like a lot of people did not have wristbands on. In the past in my own experience at the two MVMCPs I've been to, you would not have gotten very far if you didn't have a wristband. CMs were stationed at the entrance of each land checking for the bands.

I went to the party Sunday night (11/16) and they were checking wristbands everywhere! They checked on every ride and show and as we were walking along, we were constantly getting stopped and asked to show wristbands. There were whole teams of CMs just walking around checking wristbands. They were also checking everyone in the Main St Emporium and escorting guests out who did not have wristbands. We had a great time at the party. It was the highlight of our trip! We were able to see the shows, fireworks and parade and walk on any ride we wanted to. The view of the castle all lit up from the top of Splash Mountain was magnificent!

The report must have been posted by someone who was on Main Street before 8pm. After all the lands have been cleared, Ops Cast then walks in a straight line down Main Street and looks for bands. No band, then a CM will sit there with you and wait for you to leave and then escort you out. They push everyone out.....
Too bad regular park closing isn't that effective.......I've known people who were literally locked in Epcot and had to jump fences to leave.

I have a question related to MVMCP. My husband and I are thinking of buying tickets for 12/7. One problem - we have dinner reservations at Yachtsman at 5:35, then we can go to the party, but have to leave at 7:45 for a surprise he has planned. He said we could be back to the park by 10. I know it sounds crazy to spend all that money for tickets when we are missing so much, but we don't have the kids and I really want to go. We both have pins we want to buy as well. Sorry, now to my question. Once we get our wristbands for the party, can we leave the park and come back like you can for any other time at the park? I just want to make sure if i spend all this money for the tickets, that I at least can come back for 2 hours and enjoy it. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks

We went on 12/18 last year and at 7:00 they would not even let people who did not have a wrist band use any of the restrooms except the ones at the front of the park. No exceptions. They made alot of people angry, but I guess lots of people try to get something for nothing, so they have to have a firm policy.

I wish we could go again someday.
Wait a minute. We have tickets for MVMCP next Thursday (Dec 4 2008)!

There is more treasure in books than in all the pirates' loot on Treasure Island and at the bottom of the Spanish Main... and best of all, you can enjoy these riches every day of your life.

A guy I work with was at the Nov. 10th MVMCP until around 10:30 pm, and he had no wristband. He was with his family, and didn't even know about MVMCP. He asked a CM about it, and the CM told him that he was allowed to stay all evening, but wouldn't be able to see some shows or go on any rides.
They stayed for the parade and fireworks, and watched the show in front of the castle, no problems. I asked if they made any announcements about leaving the park, and he said he didn't hear anything.
I was pretty surprised, but I will say that we saw a lot of people late into the evening at MNSSHP (10/16) without wristbands, so I figured MVMCP wasn't any different. We were also never asked to see our wristbands on any rides that night. We also didn't notice any CM's at the entrance to any lands looking for them, either.

That is so odd. We had to show ours to do everything, including use the bathroom as I mentioned above. There were people EVERYWHERE checking for wristbands and lots of people being escorted out.

wristbands
I'd never try to go to stay for a party I didn't buy a ticket to so I'd rather hear they "sweeping" than that they're not.
