    Default Pool View at AKL

We are staying at AKL this Sept for the 1st time and paid the little extra for a pool view. Are there any pool view rooms that really don't have a good view or are they all pretty good?

I read a thread on a different Disney forum about bad views people have had with pictures and man some of them were just horrible.

Here are a couple pics of some of the horrible views at a couple resorts.

I think that there are some that don't give the best views of the pool, but I think that given the way AKL is laid out you won't get any views as bad as the ones you linked to.

We've stayed in a pool view room twice at AKL. One view was perfect, positioned directly above Jikos. The other view was actually a view of the hottub on the far left (when facing the savannah) so you couldn't even see the pool really (but you could see the savannah off to the left side). But it was still a great view. The pool area of AKL is so scenic, with the trees and savanah in the distance, it is hard to go wrong. It is our favorite view for the money actually.

We had a pool view room in Oct 2007 and it was great. We were close to the stairs so we didn't have to walk to the elevators. There were trees by our balcony so it drowned out a lot of the pool noise. IT was very nice.

We had the Honeymoon Suite at WL and that view was about dead on to what our view was. That was my only complaint. Me and DW were just talking about this yesterday. In 5 days, we were out on the balcony maybe 30 minutes.

After looking at those pics...maybe they need to add a category called sub-standard views.

Wow! That would be terribly disappointing! We stayed at AKL with a pool view last July and loved it! Our balcony had lovely foilage in front of it, so it felt somewhat private, yet we could still see the pool, the hot tub and then to the left, some of the animals as well. We are going back this Friday (woo hoo!) and reserved a pool view at AKL again. I would love to get the same room, but am hoping that whatever we get will be as nice as what we had last time.

Here is a picture from the 5th floor pool view room I stayed in last June

However I would highly recommend upgrading to Savannah view if the view is important to you.

That's a nice view. Kathy at MJ put in a request for the highest of the pool view rooms. Since we are going from CSR to AKL are we better off getting to AKL early to try to get what we requested?

I think you should be fine Pool View rooms aren't very popular at AKL most people are after the Svannah view. I got mine through DVC it was a Value Studio.

The last time we stayed at AKL was 12/06 and had booked a standard view and were fortunate enough to be upgraded to pool view with bunk beds(great option with kids wish more places offered it). Anyway we were at treetop height so the view of the pool was partially obscured, but not bad and it did help with the noise. Besides, since I didn't pay for it I certainly can't complain.

We will be in a pool view at AKL in one week! Woohooo! We stayed in a Savannah room last time and I honestly felt like it was unnecessary. We spend very little time in the room and watched the animals from common areas much more than from our room. In fact, our view did include the Savannah, but there was also some driveway and shed stuff that was somewhat less than picturesque. The great thing about AKL is that the entire lodge is so beautiful and there are so many places to see the animals. On the way to our Savannah view room there were big windows on either side of the hall. We always stopped and watched the animals before entering our room!!! I think the pool area is gorgeous so I am pretty sure I'll be happy no matter what our view is!

I just got back today. I had requested a standard view but I think I got an upgrade to pool. I too had the view with the pool to the right and the savanah to the left.
Before when I had requested pool I got a room on the 4th floor--great view, and a room on the 3rd floor--tree's were in the way.
With all the rain we got last week I got tired of being wet all the time and took time out to fully check out the resort. The place is cool. I also discovered that one great advantage that Jambo house has is a covered walkway from the buses to the rooms. Kidani Village does not.
Have a great time, I will be back in Sept also.

    Default pool view akl

We had a pool view at AKL last year, and it was great! There was a nice view of trees and the hot tub, and it was very relaxing. And we had another pool view room this May, and even though it wasn't as nice as our first room, we still had a lovely view of the pool and plants.

Pool views should be fine, unless you're behind the TALL PLANTS that line the ground floor behind some of the structure, like the slide and the outdoor bar. Most are awseome, so have fun!
