NON-Disney shopping near Disney World?
Could anyone recommend a good shopping area or mall close enough to Disney World to get to by taxi?
Yes, Europeans really do love to shop in the US. Especially now that the exchange rate is so heavily in our favor. We're mostly interested in clothing, mostly women's and children's, and the guys would probably appreciate a decent CD/DVD store or two. Any suggestions?
Thanks so much!

There is an outlet mall about 10-15 minutes from Downtown Disney, which has quite a variety of stores.

It's called the Orlando Premium Outlets. They are awesome, clean, and have great variety. In fact, I know it's very popular among overseas tourists.
Have fun!

Mall at Millenia is fantastic. Very upscale and beautiful. Highly recommend it!

The Orlando Premium Outlets are part of The Chelsea Premium Outlets. If you go to their web-site you can sign up to be a VIP shopper (free of charge). This lets you print out extra discount coupons for the store you may be shopping at.

Definitely check out the outlets, I've snagged some great deals in Burberry, Donald Pliner and bebe, BCBG, Theory and Oakley (can you tell I like to shop?). Like any outlets, you have to somewhat get lucky, but you should definitely be able to find some nice high-end deals here.
Like the other posters mentioned, I'd say it's about a 15 min. car ride from DTD.
The Millennium Mall is also very nice, but I've only been there once. But, it does have a Neiman Marcus and a Tory Burch store.

Thanks for the suggestion for the VIP club and coupons. There is a mall in Wisconsin owned by the same company and I received email coupons and a voucher for a coupon book on my next trip.

The Florida Mall is amazing! I am not into the outlet malls as I actually found many of the items that they are selling there more expensive than they were to buy at home in Canada. But the Florida Mall

The Florida Mall is big by Florida standards (I live 10 minutes from the largest mall in the country, so it seems small to me. LOL). The Millenia is smaller, but glitzier. Very modern and beautiful. Good restaurants too, including my favorite, P.F. Chang's.
