TTA Reopend

My chief concern is that there will be a terrible tentacle entanglement accident. WIth no one warning the tentacled to face forward, the TTA is just living on borrowed time before there is a lawsuit from some alien that gets a few legs ripped off.

i never thought of it like that, and with all the other accidents occurring at Disney this past year you would think they would be more mindful of these safety issues.

I watched some of the video on Youtube and wasn't particularly impressed. I guess I'll have a final decision when I ride in July

I am not digging it, but Judy Dench has already grown on me from SSE so it probably will. no one wants anything to really change in WDW (except stitch's great escape goes back to Alien Encounter) so when it happens to a classic attraction, pixie addicts never take kindly to it.

Actually, sounds like the guy from the start of SSE where your picture is takin. and the Future Starring You narration at the end of SSE.

Rode it last week and it's definitely different but we were OK with it. It will grow on us. Some of the original felt silly and over the top at first but grew on us eventually. Change always feels odd but that doesn't make it bad. This change is not terrific but it does fit the ride.

Well, if you watch the video, you get my impression. Too corporate, too boring and doesn't fit the concept of the TTA. Now, if they renamed it the wedway peoplemover, I'd say the spiel would fit. My guess is some marketing genius thought this would be better. Change for change sake.

It's flash based... maybe you need to upgrade to the current version of flash?

I watched it, John. I loved hearing your insights.

I also watched the old episode with Rick on TTA and it made me really miss the old soundtrack. It's funny how much that can really change the feel of it, of all of Tomorrowland really, because you used to be able to hear it everywhere along the way. They need to bring it back! Maybe after SM is done. By the way, I loved seeing the SM cars going in for a test. Cool!

John- I just found it ironic that right after the new spiel stated that the TTA never stops....it broke down and stopped.

Anyway I don't mind the new spiel I just wish they would still have some jokes. You could easily incorporate both soundtracks. I just don't understand whey they took out the jokes.

Not it. Got the most recent and I can play everything else. Might be throttling of streaming to my ISP by one of Canada's main Internet managers.

OK, personal opinon after hearing it live... STINKS!!!!! Disney blew this one... The speil was dull, boring, and one giant commercial... Terrible.. Destroyed a good attraction...

Sorry, but I completely disagree.

I don't think there’s anything wrong with the new narration. Look at it as being a throwback to the old ORAC-1 Commuter Computer narration of the 70’s/80’s.

We were going to ride TTA last Monday, but it kept breaking down and people just stood in line for over an hour to ride it!!

We went by the line three different times hoping to get on -- it's a favorite of ours anyway -- we just could not justify waiting in line for over an hour though!!

Who knew the TTA was SO popular that it needed a FP!

Dude, it's not happening!

I hate it when everybody becomes so rabid every single time something gets changed, even when it's not dreadful. And the new TTA narration is not dreadful.

Guess a lot of you folks don't really know your Disney history after all.

And what does this have to do with Disney history? Just because that's the way YOU interpret this new narration doesn't make it fact. Get over yourself.

First, let me say that, while I do consider myself a 'purist' of sorts, I do appreciate and enjoy updating and change, when that change makes the attraction 'more magical'. What I don't like, as John put so well in the video, is "change for change sake".

The problem that I have with the new TTA spiel is the same as the problem I have with the new (well, not new now) monorail spiel. In the monorail spiel, the imagineers took out the 'educational' aspect, essentially dumbing it down to a point where it became a commercial for the newest WDW ride, celebration, or attraction they were pushing at the time.

The TTA spiel takes out the 'fantasy of tomorrow' aspect, again dumbing it down to a commercial.

I know where each attraction is. I have a map. I even have one on my iPhone. I don't need a guided tour of Tomorrowland to show me where each attraction is and what you can do there.

If I needed to know that, I could just watch Stacy on my room TV.

Correct me if I am wrong,but wasn't the original WedWay Peoplemover silent from the start? I might be wrong. Anyway, we rode it this past week and although I do enjoy the last soundtrack, it did not lessen the "magic" of my trip one single bit!!
