Default Where to find a good steak?

My husband wants a good steak when we go to WDW. He wants either a sirloin or New York strip. I heard Le Cellier is good, but is there any other restaurant with a good steak?

Not very far from Le Cellier, outside of EPCOT proper, you will find two very good steakhouses.
    1. The Yachtsman's Steakhouse (at the YC Resort)
    2. Shula's Steakhouse (at the Dolphin)

Both are very good. Shula's is ridiculously expensive. Yachtsman's Steakhouse isn't cheap either, but not as bad.

I agree, The Yacthsman. Also, if he likes buffalo, try Artist Point at the WL. It is excellent

I've heard that Shula's is the best but you may need to take out a second mortgage.I actually had a pretty good steak at Planet Hollywood.

I've been to 2 of his restaurants, and Shula's is highly over-rated (for the money you pay), IMO. However, I do agree that the Yachtsman serves up a good steak and some excellent sides (the lobster bisque is heavenly). It is still pricey, but worth it.

I'm far from a steak expert, but the surf & turf at Yachtsman Steakhouse was outstanding. Le Cellier is also very popular, but I've never had the steak there.

It all depends on what you mean when you say a good steak. Some people would mean delicious, fork tender filet-- in which case there's a long list of restaurants with amazing variations. But if you mean different cuts like NY Strip, Ribeye, or Sirloin, Shula's and Yachtsman's Steakhouse are probably your best bet.

Shula's is supposedly the best on property, but is pricey and it's a chain. I prefer to avoid chain restaurants when I'm at WDW.Yachtsman's, again pricey but in keeping with what you would expect from a high-end steakhouse.

    Otherwise, you can find:
    NY Strip at Rainforest Cafe(chain)
    Ribeye at Brown Derby
    Sirloin at Mama Melrose
    NY Strip at Coral Reef
NY Strip, Kansas City Strip at Le Cellier
NY Strip at Tony's Town Square
NY Strip at Flying Fish (also pricey)
NY Strip, Ribeye at Grand Floridian Cafe
    NY Strip at Olivia's Cafe
NY Strip, Ribeye at Kona Cafe
    NY Strip at Turf Club
    Ribeye at Whispering Canyon
NY Strip at Captain's Grille (also at Yacht Club)
    Sirloin at Raglan Road
NY Strip at Wolfgang Puck's Dining Room (pricey)

Wow, lots of options! I didn't even realize until I started researching.

    Default Shula's

Shulas' is by far the "best" place for steak on property. They serve Angus Prime. All other WDW reatourants serve USDA Choice Premium. Not even close to tendreness and flavor. The only problem is that Prime can be costly, and at Shulas's it is. If you have had Prime beef,it is sometimes difficult to go back to choice. Its like staying at a deluxe WDW hotel for the first time. Its tough to go back to one of the value locations. We have eaten at all the formentioned restaurants many times and have had good steak at each one as well.

As the daughter of a butcher I recommed the Yachtsman Steakhouse! Fabulous meals every time we eat ther which is at least twice per trip.

I agree with the pp that said they avoid chain restaurants in Disney, me too.

As far as prime v. USDA choice, not necessarily true. Many factors go into preparing a great steak. I've had Kobe beef and didn't find it any better than either grades.

We are a family of meat eaters, and have frequented many of the "steak" eateries at WDW, including Yachtman, Shulas, Le Celier, and have tried steaks at other signature restaurants such as Citricos and Jiko. My absolute favorite has to be the Filet from Brown Derby. Perfectly tender, melt in your mouth, wonderful steak! I don't tink I've ever had better! My family and I were pleasantly surprised by the excellent service (even though we were on the DDDP), wonderful options, and recommendations from the staff. A great escape from the park, such a surprise!

Wow, yeah. Me, too on the Kobe beef. I was expecting too much, I think. It was good, just that I've had others just as good. It surprised me.

I'll second the filet at the Brown Derby, outstanding.

Also, whilst I haven't had the steak there, the Captain's Grill is one of the truly great underrated gems of Disney dining, so if anyone's recommending that, I'd go with it.

I've still never convinced my party to fork out for the Yaghtsman's. They still have a bee in bonnet about top level dining after a bad experience at the California Grill.

I think the idea with named cuts such as Kobe Beef and Poulet-Bresse is not so much that it is better than other great cuts, it the guarantee if top quality rather than the potential lottery of other brands.
