D23 1st Anniversary Party
So the final announcment and price has been announced for the D23 1st Anniversary Party at WDW on March 5th. See Link for more details:
http://d23.disney.go.com/expo/010410...niversary.html
The event is $140 per person and includes One Day Park Admission, Private Dinner, Private Dessert Party, open attractions and a Presentation of the new Fantasyland Expansion with an Imagineer plus some other "surprises".
My question is it worth the money? It seems like some what of a fair price if you don't have tickets the park already. But I'm currently an annual pass holder and I feel like I would be paying double. What are your thoughts?

I'M GOING!! (that's if I can get my hands on a ticket!) I'm not an annual passholder but I think that you guys should get some sort of discount. For me, I bought a 10-day park hopper, no expiration in 2006 and I wanna hold onto those days as long as possible

I got my tickets this morning when they went on sale !!!. Good thing to. I checked back less than 2 hours later and it was sold out. I'm trying to figure out how many tickets were sold but I guess since there is only two Dinners at Diamond Horseshoe that it can't be to many people just need to find out the capacity of building.

I read somewhere else that Diamond Horseshoe only holds 200 people. So I'm guessing it will be around 400 people. Also I read that Philharmagic holds about 480 people. I'm so excited the write said some of the Attractions in Fantasyland will be open...Can you imagine only 400 people in that area it will be practically empty.

Yes, my DW and I attended this event. First there was a dinner at the Golden Horseshoe. The dinner was very good. During the dinner there was video presentation that highlighted past D23 events, mostly the Expo. After the park closed there was a 45 minute presentation/Q&A session with an imagineer.
During the presentation he went over the Fantasyland expansion with a little more detail. But here are some of the key things I took away from this discussion.
-Fall of 2012 is when Fantasy Forest will open
-Pixie Hollow, scheduled for 2013 is not a 100% for sure thing to happen.
-Per the Imagineer; boys perspectives are being taken into consideration with the princess experiences.
-the princess experiences are going to be designed to have small group 15-20 people have a more private/intimate interaction with the princess.
-Mickey/Minnie's house will not be torn down but relocated, but no details where they will be moved to.
- The closing of Toon Town will be publicly announced prior to closing.
After the presentation we had Fantsyland to ourselves (I found out it was only 350 people at this event) with several rides open. There was also desserts and tea/coffee/hot chocolate.
Overall it was good night. My only major complaint was that the price was a little steep for the event.
