Me too! Add to that the brisk pace I set for us to stay ahead of the crowds, plus usually pushing a stroller (with 80 pounds of children on it) and sometimes carrying a child on my shoulders, I get plenty of workout in without meaning to.

I tell you what, my body hurt more at the end of our third day than it did after my first half-marathon. And it just went downhill from there!

I'm an elliptical person, doing about 45mins-1 hour per day.
While at WDW, we walk miles and miles a day and at the end of the day, my legs are throbbing!! I know I got good exercise. Thats what I do, thats enough for me on vacation to WDW.

Great suggestion. Do you have any idea how long the path along the lake is?

Is that a trick question? Isn't walking a gazillion miles a day enough of a work out?

I don't ever need to! This past trip back in Oct. I lost 2 lbs. just from walking so much. And I was eating WHATEVER I wanted too! I wish I could zap my way to WDW everyday just to take my routine walks there. I'd walk longer and never get bored even when I'm alone.

    Default I do now

I used the facilities at AKL for the first time this past December. I mainly use the eliptical. The facilities were nice, everything was working and clean and I did not have to wait. The only downside was the time limitation for the equipment -20 minutes - I do 45 on the machine. However, since there was no wait for the unit I was using, there was no problem with me staying on it.

I'm glad I stuck, somewhat, to my workout routine. It made me feel better and made me care less about having that extra treat at the park. I also noticed a couple less of the usual pounds were packed on when I returned home and there was no problem picking up the workout routine when I got there.

While some have add a "lol" to their "we work out by walking the parks" comments, the honest truth is that for us days in the parks are a pretty good aerobic workout...we start with morning EMH stay until the parks get crowded, go back to the resort for a swim and a nap, and then hit it again for late EMH...we don't do the dining plan (which tends to make us overeat) and by staying active we don't sit around and munch...Days not in the theme parks are spent at the water parks with lots of climbing stairs, stretching and swimming or long walks to DD....and thus on a five night trip to disney I usually lose a couple of pounds.

I run when at WDW only because I enter a race every Mother's Day and we're always down the 3rd week in April. I also find it nice to be out on the WL exercise trail while my guys are in bed sleeping. I see the deer eating and other animals while on my run. It's a nice quite me time.

Out of the past five years of going to DW, I only consistantly ran during one trip. My family is so active that I either do not have the time or I do not have the energy. We stay in the FW cabins and this is a great place to run. It is hard to force myself to wake up early when I am on vacation to run.

    Wink

I'm on vacation ~ so no way!

But considering that we are in the parks from 9am to closing and cover at least 8 miles a day ~ I'm not worried!

Even all the extra snacks and treats don't make a dent in that fun!

    Funny story though ~
Last trip we went with my FIL & MIL (their first time) and they are in their 70s. Our pace was much slower than usual and we seem to do nothing but eat!! After 2 weeks, MIL (a slim, rather high maintenance personality) commented that all this eating was not good for her, and she was getting fat. She groused alot but finished out the trip with alot of negative "are we eating again??" kinda comments. I had to choke on my laughter when we got home and she weighted herself (I'm sure as soon as she walked in the door ) and discovered that she had lost 10 pounds!!! Her comment to us was " I could have eaten more deserts had I known this!"
    Go figure!!
