If you were in charge, what theme would the newest Disney resort be?

I had a dream last night that my family and I were at a disney resort, however, it wasn't a real resort. It was a cross between the Poly and ToT. The lobby looked more like ToT but, had more "Poly-ness" to it.

So, if you were the head mouse in charge of designing the newest resort to hit WDW what would it be?

I'd love to hear all the different themes that everyone comes up with. We all have such great imaginations!

I have always wondered why there's no Asian Theme deluxe level resort.

Disney had originally planned to have a Persian themed resort and an Asian themed resort. I think either one would be cool.

But if I had to use my imagination, I would say a medieval castle. All of us want to stay in Cinderalla Castle, but very few of us will ever get that opportunity. Some sort of fantasy castle theme would be awesome.

Cheesy? Maybe...but awesome nonetheless. (Then again, I'm a card-carrying nerd.)

Something with Space as the theme. They could do so much with Kennedy Space Center so close. Theme it around Space Mountain, use cutting edge technology. I would stay there in a heartbeat.

I always say that the reason I love WDW is because we leave reality behind us when we enter the main gate to Disney property and enter a world of fantasy. I would love to see a resort that each building or area would be like the different lands of MK or Epcot.

Another idea that I always thought would be awesome is if there was a country-themed resort hotel behind every country in the World Showcase. I'm sure available space would prevent this from happening, but how cool would it be to stay at the Morrocan themed hotel behind Morroco? Or a Roman-themed resort behind Italy?

My only fear about this is that they would stick a Motel 6 behind the American pavilion

Forget about the space, they wouldn't be able fill or staff 11 more resorts. They can't even finish POP.

I love the castle idea. I think it would be neat to have a place where little girls can really feel like a princes as they sleep in their castle :-)

A Retro Disney resort....with things from Disney's past incorporated into the resort as well as pieces from now defunct rides..

this was actually in Walt's original plan for EPCOT. it was supposed to have a living/working world showcase. You could actually LIVE there... not DVC, but live there. Could you image how much that would cost? But, guaranteed, every one of those homes would be owned and lived in.... no doubt.

I love the castle/princess/pirate theme... more than just a room upgrade at the Poly but, a whole resort dedicated to it.

also love the space theme... I'll be in the Buzz Lightyear building!

I read somewhere about an ice hotel somewhere in Russia, I think. Everything was carved in ice. I think something along those lines (not REAL ice, of course) could be pretty neat.

But I love the castle idea...and the Moroccan idea, too!

this was actually in Walt's original plan for EPCOT. it was supposed to have a living/working world showcase. You could actually LIVE there... not DVC, but live there. Could you image how much that would cost? But, guaranteed, every one of those homes would be owned and lived in.... no doubt.

I love Walt's original ideas for Epcot. The Disney Treasures: Tommorrowland DVD has his original spiel about Epcot. It is amazing. I wonder if he could have really done it had he lived longer. All I know is I would be on the waiting list to live there!

I also love the ideas about the castle resort, and the pirate ones. But if I were in charge, it would be an under the sea themed resort! When you looked out the windows there would be fish swimming by, coral, and all kinds of undersea goodies. It would be similar to riding the old 20K Leagues ride. You could even have a giant squid themed pool where you slide in and around the squid's arms. Everywhere you go there would be treasure. AND, they could do a dolphin discovery area similar to other places in Florida. I'm really surprised Disney hasn't done this yet, besides the Living Seas.

And of course there would have to be a seafood restaurant on site...

Now, I know this idea isn't "Disney" and with the new theme park opening soon, I would love to stay at Hogwarts Hotel.

Even though I'm a HUGE Disney fan (of course being on here proves that!), I am also a HUGE Harry Potter fan. I'd love to stay at Hogwarts... the different houses? Not that US hasn't already thought of this real niche theming but, wouldn't it be cool to stay in Griffandor tower? and eat in the great hall? And run from the whomping willow?
