Not really. You can lock it away in your suitcase or get a computer lock for it. I heard some people can fit their laptops in the room safe but I know mine doesn't fit. I never had a problem bringing mine. I don't leave it set up near the window with the curtains open, but I don't hide it either and (touch wood) it's still here.
Adding to the question, since we arrive long before check-in time, will a laptop in a case be safe while stored with our lugggage? Is the luggage stored in a secure area? Should I try to fit it into a suitcase?

I've never had a problem with that either. I've told them it's a laptop and they are careful with it.

My netbook fit into the safe at ASMo, but there definitely was no room for a regular laptop. Internet connection is 9.99 a day, and it was out for one of the days I was there. Normally, I travel with my laptop and broadband card, so I was surprised at the lack of great connection. Like the previous posters, I've not left it out in broad daylight, but haven't had a problem with it in a drawer. The luggage room is used to keeping things like laptops safe, so I wouldn't worry there, either. I wouldn't put it in a suitcase, as they might not be as gentle with those.
Have a great trip!

I think a 15.4" would be cutting it close if it does. We''ve got a laptop at about 14.1" and it fits in the deluxe safes, not sure about a value.
That said, we don't put it in the safe, I actually leave it out the whole trip, no worries.
I think we did have an issue with the bell services people, but I didn't notice the crack in my laptop case till it was too late to blame Disney about it. Problem is, you don't have much choice. DO NOT pack it in checked bags, I wouldn't be surprised if it never shows up at your resort. Give it to bell services and it's up to them to handle it well. Slip them some cash up front, maybe they'll take better care of it.
