    Default Crowds in two weeks?

I'm getting really nervous seeing the Water Parks getting increasingly busy this week at Disney...I thought it should start dying down by now....

I have a trip for the 18-24th this month and thought we'd just be avoiding the "busiest season", but now I'm starting to have my doubts. Are there any of you that have gone 2-3 weeks after Easter that can offer some insight? Should it really start to cut back next week? I'm scared! Have done the "busiest" time before [Christmas] and swore never again!

We went last year during the last week in April. I don't remember when Easter was last year, but I think it was about 2-3 weeks before we went. There were plenty of people there, but it was never that busy in the parks. We had very small waits for attractions. Of course, we usually are there for park opening and have somewhat of a plan, so that helps. I'm sure it won't be anything like Christmas, so don't worry! We had a wonderful time and you will, too!
Wrong will be right, when Aslan comes in sight,
At the sound of his roar, sorrows will be no more,
When he bares his teeth, winter meets its death,
And when he shakes his mane, we shall have spring again.

I just had to cancel my April 15-21 trip. Sad! But we went last year at that time, about two weeks after Easter, and it was a great time to go. Really nice weather and moderate crowds. We loved it so much we planned to return, but... well, maybe later this year instead. Enjoy!

Awesome! Thanks for the encouragement guys! I can totally handle moderate crowds.

That last time we went around this time, was in 2005 from May 1-8. It was very light crowds then. We spent a day at Typhoon Lagoon and were practically the only people in the park; I swear there couldn't have been more than 50-75 people there. Sure wouldn't mind that again this year!

We will be there the week after you and are hoping that the crowds will be manageable as well. I thought the end of April would be a good time to visit, but it may be a bit more crowded than I initially thought. Regardless, it still beats the Spring Break/Easter crowds!!

Well let's keep our fingers crossed that next week will thin out all the crowds for us!

I'm so glad to here this. I know it was 5 years ago, but we are going this exact week this year and was hoping for light to moderate crowds. This is the first time we are even considering a water park....so we just may go this time! Would be nice to be in a water park with only 75 other guests!!

The 3rd week in April is spring break for some states. I know it is in MA, I think it's also for NH, and CT. It's not going to be empty but the crowds are definitely less and the weather has always been great.

That day was also calling for Isolated T-storms--like 40%. It "stormed" once during the day for like 15 minutes, but then true to Florida weather, it went back to being sunny and gorgeous. I'm sure that played a part in why so few people were there too...but having to go hang out in the shops for 15 minutes to have lighter crowds is fine by me!

By 3rd week do you mean the 3rd full week or the 3rd out of the month? i.e. 12-16 or 19-23?

Although we are in the MIdwest, I'm pretty sure it's the 19-23rd...I did a big search of all Spring Breaks and dates and DID find some that went during this time and even a few the week of the 26th of April. HOwever, it's at the very tail end of them...so you will definitely miss the huge influx of Spring Breakers, but there will still be "some".

Cool! Thanks for the research! How did you find all the Spring Breaks? I tried searching too but could only come up with College Breaks.

I know a lot of the East Coast schools have later Spring Breaks. I randomly went to each of the 13 states (the original "colony") and looked at school districts and then just selected a few from each state and wrote them down. Obsessive, I know....but I had over a year to plan so I just went on-line here and there to check it out. I also did a google search of Spring Break dates 2010 and although I also got mostly college dates - that information gave me a good "idea" of when most breaks occur. Enjoy your trip!!!! It'll be great and I think the crowds will die down considerably next week.

FYI, the website that has a crowd calendar has these predictions for the days you'll be there (1-10 with 10 being the highest:

    April 18 - 9
    April 19 - 8
    April 20 - 6
    April 21 - 6
    April 22 - 9
    April 23 - 4
    April 24 - 4

April 23 and April 24 are grad nights (private parties for high school grads) and I believe that the MK will be closing early those nights.
Also, the Cheerleading and Dace World Championship is schedule for April 23-25.

    Hope this helps.
