    Default Sunscreen Questions

    Hi All,

Whats' your favorite sunscreen to use at Disney, especially during the hot & humid days? I'm especially interested in what people use on your faces that don't leave you with a "shiny" sunscreen looking face.

We're leaving in 3 weeks and starting to go shopping for the essentials.

    Thanks for your thoughts!!

I use a wide brimmed straw hat. Works great and no "shiny" face. If farmers use it, you know it works.

On my face, I use Neutrogena Age Shield Face Sunblock. I love it & use it year-round.

From the tube I currently have: it's oil- & PABA-free, non-greasy feel, dries to a matte finish. waterproof & sweatproof, gentle enough for sensitive skin, non-comedogenic, & fragrance-free.

On my body, I use Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Body Mist sunblock.

I will second the hat! Even with sunscreen, I'm amazed at how hot my face gets, and how red it seems at the end of the day.

We never head out at Disney without a hat!

I like the spray for a quick touch up, then your hands don't get all gunky. Just make sure to move out of the way so you don't get anyone else.

I use Coppertone Sport and it doesn't seem to leave me greasy or run in my eyes.
I keep my head clean shaven daily so sunblock is a must for me.

Bullfrog sunblock is great, I started using it about 20 years ago to protect my face when I worked at a ski area. It is water proof so you don't have to worry about reapplying if you go into the water, or sweat during the day. It started out as a surfer product. Their latest product is a combo sunblock/insect repellant.

I also like the spray sunscreen, but get the waterproof kind so that it's not greasy. I sprayed it on myself and my kids and it worked great, even without rubbing it in. I think the brand was Coppertone Sport.

We use coppertone too! My hubby and 22 month old DS are VERY fair skined....so we have to get the strongest they make, and right now that is 100 SPF! It works like a charm. I put it on DS right before we leave the room and it works for the entire day! Great stuff!

I will only use Neutrogena sunblocks, both the creams and the sprays, because they do not feel greasy OR sticky (Coppertone Sport is incredibly weird feeling, although it works well). They are not cheap, but I get them at Target, and they're cheap-er there.

For my face: Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunblock

For my body: Ultra Sheer Spray

Both of these absorb very quickly and leave NO residue feel.

Get the highest SPF you can for both, especially if you will be swimming.

    Default small tube

Another vote for Neutrogena. And a reminder- if you're flying down from CT and using DME, you won't have your luggage for (possibly) several hours. So make sure you buy a small tube (3 OZ or less) that can be put in your carry-on. Don't get a sunburn the first day!

I can get a sunburn going through the drive-thru on a sunny day. Last year I went to Target and on a whim got Neutrogena's SPF 100. I LOVED IT. I only had to apply it once in the morning. It didn't feel greasy at all. It's well worth the money!

I used Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF 100+ with Helioplex.

Neutrogena and Baby Aveeno seem to work best for me and my fair skinned DS4. The rest of our family all have black hair and dark complexions-boogers. DS4 and I are allergic to everything outdoorsy and get sun poisoning at the drop of a hat-these brands work best for us.

The Neutrogena has a face specific sunscreen that works really well, not too greasy.

Another fan here of the Neutrogena face products! And a fan of the Coppertone Sport spray (in the blue bottle). This is the only spray sunscreen that seems to go on evenly, with adequate protection. It's expensive - but oh, so worth it!

I use Aveeno Facial moisturizer with 30 SPF sunscreen all year around summer AND winter. I have tried other facial sunscreens but they always cause rashes and breakouts.
