Luxo Jr No Longer Appearing at DHS

I was in DHS in early February and thought Luxo Jr was a great addition to Pixar Place. Instead of just being a static fixture on top of a building, he dances around and definitely has his own personality.

I hope that Luxo Jr does return - he's one of those 'secrets' to look for, instead of just walking past.

I thought the law suit was due to them selling luxo style lamps (not made by Luxo of course). I don't know though, it's tough keeping up on all the Disney litigation these days.

The lawsuit stemmed from Disney/Pixar including a working Luxo Jr Desk Lamp in a special UP DVD bundle... Luxo ASA sued... The two sides came to an undisclosed agreement, and Luxo dropped the lawsuit... that was back in September/October.. I doubt this has anything to do with the lawsuit, but more along the lines of another Disney AA not working properly and costing way too much money to constantly fix, ala the Yeti (although he is supposedly still being worked on, but I don't believe that)...

man...another little thing that I missed at WDW. We were walking into TSM this Jan and I said to my sister Look! Luxo's coming out to which she replied yeah, yeah, let's get in line...so I missed it.

That makes me sad.... we saw him last fall, and he was adorable... and definitely made the queue outside TSM a bit more tolerable! Really can't figure out why they'd pull him, unless he wasn't working properly... he certainly can't have cost much to maintain or run, and he didn't have to be costumed or fed....

That is a shame. Just over two years ago, I was in the Confectionary on Main St USA, and noticed that the little candy buckets on the conveyor belt overhead were no longer moving. I went to City Hall to inquire, and was told that they "just broke down yesterday" and were being worked on...

As I said, that was just over two years ago.

It's those little things that make WDW special.

Looks like the turning of WDW into 'just another theme park' continues...
