    Default School Supplies out... already

I was at Walmart yesterday and supprised to find that all the school supplies are out. My DD hasn't been out of school one month yet. I couldn't resist though. We got a few items so she would have her choice and not the left overs if I bought them in August. She doesn't start school until Sept 13th. I know some schools start mid August.

The retail world- always rushing us ahead! Ugh. My younger son goes back August 18th. I used to hate, when I was a kid, the back to school commercials. I think they used to start at the end of July. I would just like to enjoy the present! A Macy's store by us actually puts thier Christmas shoppe up in August~

Walmart always has their school supplies out by this time every year. And I'm one of those parents that starts buying when it comes out. That way I make sure to get everything the kids will need before it is sold out!!

We bought some school stuff last week. Need to take inventory before purchasing more. We start school on August 16th. Class registration is on August 3rd. Kinda early for my soon to be Junior. Every year we seem to start earlier.

Last year our schools started in the last week of July...this year it's the first week of August. Our Target stores have some notebooks and stuff, but they haven't finished putting everything out yet. Last year, they cleared out all of their summer stuff and had all their school supplies out on July 5th.

Even though I'm no longer in school and I don't have any children yet, I enjoy looking at the supplies and getting notebooks. Plus, the week after school starts, they put out the Halloween stuff! I know August sounds a bit early for Halloween, but not for me!!

My kids go back to school in just 4 1/2 weeks so its really not that early to have school supplies out right now. Our school decided to try something new this year. A local office supply shop is ordering, labeling (child's name), and delivering all our school supplies to our children's classrooms. All I have to do is pay $90 per child and they'll have all the supplies they need for the year without me having to go out and buy it all, label it, and haul it into school. I'm so happy our school has decided to give this a try. My kids go to a private school so parents have to provide everything, including copy paper, and other such things that aren't funded by the state. I've never been able to get everything on my kids supply list for $90 or under so on top of not having to do it, I'm also saving money!!

    Default Early August

I am a teacher and we go back August 2nd and the students on August 5th. It seems so soon but the plus side is that we are finished by mid May.

School starts here Aug.16 and College Aug.19.

When my kids were little, I would find it funny that all of the back to school tips/hints shows on the Today show, etc would be in Sept and my kids would already be a month into school.

Even after 20 yrs, I find August a strange time to go back. When I was teaching, it was always after Labor Day. I hate the August start dates.

Our public schools go back after Labor Day, but remember that colleges may start earlier, and they need supplies too. I was surprised to see the supplies in Walmart, but then the college students popped into my mind and it didn't bother me as much. Now, fall clothes...that's a different issue. It's 90 degrees out...I don't want to see sweaters and jackets. LOL.

Our school system goes back in mid-August. That's actually later than it has been for the past few years! It's just so hot then and it seems like we just got out of school.
