Question Driving from Long Island, NY

We are driving down to WDW at the end of June. I am looking for any New Yorks that drive to WDW. How far do you go your first day? What is a good location to try and get too. We are leaving on a Friday at 12 noon. We wanted to get at least 7 hours the first day or more if possible. We are AAA memebers and would like to book ahead of time. Please help us with travel tips that works good for you.

    Cool Driving from NY

Not sure how long it takes to get down this far (Carolina's) from NY? I know you will wind up getting on I-95 South which takes you all the way to I-4 in Florida. Traveling from Charlotte NC, we pick up I-95 where it intersects I-26 in South Carolina near Charleston. It's about 7 more hours from this point. We're leaving at 4 a.m. and driving the 10 hours straight to our Disney Resort.
I'd try to get a few more hours in, not book ahead of time in case you feel like logging a few more miles before you stop for the day. You never know about traffic, weather or smooth sailing!

I don't think you should have too many problems trying to make Virginia when leaving at noon.
We did the drive from Queens the last 2 Septembers, with me doing all of the driving. We stayed in Best Westerns all the way. I can do it with 2 long days of driving without killing myself.
BTW, we do 95 all the way til I-4.

Hello fellow LI'er. I have heard from friends that it would take approx 18 hrs if you drive straight thru. Not sure how fast they drive or how many tops they make.
Have any room in your vehicle to take me with you??? I cant wait til Oct til our next trip :-) Have fun & enjoy your trip!

Thank you for your response everyone.

Yes, Dyanna you can jump in with us. The more Disney fans the better. Pick you up on the way.
