    Default Ticket Question

My friend is staying offsite and she needs tickets. Should she buy them from the Disney web site ahead of time or buy them when she gets there? Any help would be great!!!

It is cheaper to buy them in advance than at the gate. If they are leaving in less than a week then they can buy online and then pick up at the will call window. Regular shipping for tickets ordered online is $5 per order.

Buying from Disney is the same price in the end, after taxes are added, whether they are bought on-line or at the parks.

You can save a few dollars by using the Official Ticket Center though. Tickets can be mailed in advance, or picked up from their office in Orlando.

As a former Main Street/Turnstiles CM at Magic Kingdom, let me offer some advice.

DO NOT buy your park tickets from anyone other than Disney themselves, or an official Disney partner. DO NOT especially buy your park tickets at one of those little US192 "ticket stands", AND ESPECIALLY those that are a "single stand" operating outside of a convenience store. I have never heard of [site reference removed] so I can't comment on how their service is, or what their prices are.

    True story:
There was a family of ten that had tried to save some money by purchasing their park tickets online - ten 7-day park hoppers - so that they could stay at a deluxe resort (the Contemporary). They got to the park (at Magic Kingdom), came over to my turnstile, and when Dad tried to run his ticket, it came up "expired". So, I asked for the next ticket (about an 11 year old, so it was still an adult ticket), same thing - "expired". So I asked to see all of their tickets so I could check them. Sure enough, every one of their ten 7-day park hoppers were expired. When asked by my manager, who by this time had showed up, where the tickets were purchased, they said, "Online - from one of them ticket discounters." If I recall, Guest Relations ended up comping them two days' worth of park tickets, without the park hoppers. Needless to say, they weren't very happy when told they needed to take it up with whoever they bought their tickets from.

What these "discounters" do is, buy unused days on tickets that supposedly have days left on the tickets. Someone probably sold these tickets to the discounters, telling them that there were days still left on the tickets, when, in fact, there weren't - and there's no way to tell unless you have it checked at a park or resort.

So, just *please* be careful where and from whom you buy your tickets.

We just bought ours for our trip from [site removed per Intercot's terms of service] at a very good price. We learned about them from [site removed per Intercot's terms of service]. This is our first time using them and have had friends use them in the past with no problems. AAA also sells them at discount.

We leave this Wed. the 21st. We'll let you know if we have any problems with them.

Just be aware that "the 6th day free" is about a $5 saving...about 3% savings on a PH. Great gimmick for the seller, but not a great savings for the buyer...
