Default Change in rule about age restrictions at kids clubs?

We are cruising in August on the Dream. I had read that Disney is now getting really strict about the age cut offs for the kids clubs. I know sometimes if a child's age is on the border of an age cut off they would lie the kids go up or down a club level, but apparently will not be doing that anymore. What about a case where a child is developmentally delayed? My son will have just turned 14 on our cruise, but is the size and maturity level of an 8-9 year old. I was hoping they would let him in the tween club with the 11-13 year olds, so at least he would be with kids closer to his developmental age. I have 2 other teens who will be in Vibe, so he could hang with them if need be, but he is so far from being at their maturity level, I think he would be frustrated and bored in Vibe. Does anyone have inside knowledge or experience with this policy change?

Yes, they are getting more strict in applying the age limitations for the various kids' clubs. However, yours is a special situation. I would call DCL and ask what accomodations can be made for your son.

    Default Just called DCL

I just called because I have a similar issue. I will have a 13 years and 11 month old and a 15 year old who would like to go together. He told me they wouldn't make any exceptions. Any advice?

No exceptions? Not even for a child who is developmentally delayed? Oh my! Although I suspect that after the staff at Vibe spends about 15 minutes with my son, they will be begging for him to switch to the lower age group.
