I haven't seen one - there is a Giant in Kennett Square where my daughter dances, a Super Walmart about 5 minutes from our house, and I don't even want to talk about the Wegmans about 20 minutes away. That store is really nice and has great food but I can really bust a Budget there!

I wish we had a Target close-is is in Delaware near the Trader Joe.

I miss the nice Kroger in Ohio-I could double coupon and saved a lot. I also miss Jungle Jims in Fairfield , Ohio -lots of wonderful produce!

Happy New Year to all!- and good luck with all our goals

Us too. It stinks. I think we can be debt free again by mid summer, and then start rebuilding the savings after that. That's the goal, anyway.

For 2012 my goals are to have a more healthy lifestyle. Eat better and work out more. my other goal is to declutter. I am moving in Sept and I need to start now getting rid of all the junk that has piled up in the last ten years.

After the last half-year we had with my mother dying, working full-time and my business taking off, all I want is more time to sit in my chair with my dogs and to catch up on sleep.

    So far, achievement unlocked!

Doesn't look good for the next month or two, though.
Officially too many trips to list here!

If you're close to Kennett Square (although I'm not sure exactly where you are), then the closest Aldi to you is most likely in Elkton, MD on Route 40, just over the border from Delaware. It's about 15 minutes from my house.

Your closest Trader Joe's is also my closest Trader Joe's, which is about 35 minutes from my house. Where I used to live, there was one 5 minutes away (everything was 5 minutes away, including the beach - I miss home ) I love Trader Joe's, as their dried wild blueberries are the cheapest that I've seen.

I plan to start shopping at the Aldi ASAP for at least my produce and meats. I try to get organic dairy products and produce where I can, and I'll be trying to get grass-fed meats where I can too, even though it's more expensive. I have another 2012 goal, which is to lose 30 lbs. (which includes the remaining baby weight). So that means cooking more meals at home (so I'm meal planning), which will help me save money to help pay off my CC debt.

While it's not quite the end of the year we all know that our dieting/saving more money resolutions aren't going to get accomplished during the holiday shopping and eating season so.....

How's everyone doing with their 2012 goals?

I'm satisfied with my progress. Could I have done more, yes, but I feel a sense of accomplishment and I have high hopes going into 2013!

Oh man, I forgot all about these goals.

I did cut back on my trips to Target.

The rest of them? Well, I guess there's always next year.

The first 6 months of the year I did not fulfill these goals. Thanks to a relaxing summer, some perspective, and a fresh outlook this September, I've gotten much better at being positive. It's my 2nd year teaching full time after years of part time, and I know what to expect.

We'll see how I do at the beginning of next year. The dark of winter is always hard for me to handle, and the spring is relentlessly busy.

I had always shopped at Shop Rite (just around the corner) then when I stopped working and had more time I made the longer trip to Walmart. At the end of the year I had saved $1000. In my area Walmart is alot cheaper than Shop Rite and the even more expensive Acme. It is true, they don't have as big of a selection, but for the savings, it's worth it.

Kudos to those that have met theirs and to those who haven't, there's still two more months left in 2012 and there's always 2013 so don't get discouraged!

I'm ahead of where I thought I'd be, managed to pay off all my student loans so I'm debt-free except for the mortgage! Talk about a great feeling. Also doing well with my other savings and I feel good about my marathon training.
