Plaza Inn..is priority seating needed?

My husband and I may be going for a short trip in August...very spur of the moment....I was looking at menus and came across the fried chicken at the Plaza Inn. I know the character breakfast take priority seating but does the lunch or dinner? If it does, do you think I will have any luck getting one for the second week of August? Also, what other restaurants do you recommend (both quick and table) that we should be ok getting into? This will be our first Disneyland trip. Thanks!!!!

Lunch and Dinner are buffeteria style. You get your food, pay and then sit at an open table. There is indoor and outdoor seating. It is more of a counter service and no priority seating is available during lunch and dinner.

The character breakfast does have priority seating.

P.S. The chicken is so yummy and a large portion.

Just to add...

Our favorites are (c/s) Jolly Holiday (across from the Plaza Inn), Plaza Inn, Carnation Cafe (TS) at Disneyland.

At DCA: Pacific Wharf Cafe, Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta, both CS. I only have had a breakfast at Flo's V8 Cafe. We don't really do too much TS at DCA.

Grand Californian: Whitewater snacks for CS... really good nacho's there. Storytellers Cafe for lunch and dinner TS.

Disneyland Hotel: Tangaroa Terrace/ Trader Sams. Love their teriyaki burger with the sweetpotato fries.
