A Very Disney Honeymoon Day 8
Monday December 17th
This morning we decided to take it easy in the morning. It was our last full day and despite feeling like this really was a nice long trip the inevitable sadness of leaving was creeping in.
We headed off to Animal Kingdom in the morning. This is honestly one of my favorite parks but we hadn't spent much time here. We hopped right on the safari and then headed off into the Gorilla walk. Compared to the rest of the park this area was quite and since it was early we got some really great views of the animals eating breakfast.
We then headed off to the first showing the Lion King. This show never fails to amaze me, I really enjoy it. After we grabbed fast passes to Dinosaur then headed into Asia to do the Tiger walk through. Again, this are was quiet and we had some awesome views. I could spend hours in by the bats and not get bored. We grabbed an Everest fast pass on our way to Yak and Yeti for lunch.
We hadn't eaten here previously. We were seated upstairs, the theming in here is a lot of fun. For appetizers I had the wonton soup and DH had the dumplings. Both were very good. Our entrees I had the tempura shrimp and DH had the sweet and sour chicken. Both were great and came with nice sides of crispy stir fried veggies. For dessert I had the sorbet trio which was nice and light and refreshing. DH had the cream cheese wontons and bananas and fell in love with them just a little bit. This meal was great and we'd definitely come back here again.
After lunch we hopped on Everest and Dinosaur then we headed back to the resort. DH napped while I spent some time packing, organizing and wondering how we were going to get all this stuff home. After we decided to take the car over to the boardwalk. We did some shopping and spied on a pretty little wedding going on. We reminisced briefly about ours and then decided we were very glad it was behind us lol
We took the boat over to Epcot and FINALLY got into the American Adventure. We wandered world showcase for a bit then headed to the front of the park. Quick ride on spaceship earth then it was time to head out to our last dinner reservation at the California Grill.
We took the monorail over and after a bit of confusion finally found the check in desk for the Cali grill. Took our private elevator up and we were seated in minutes. Our table was in the back in a quiet room off the kitchen. The table was decorated with confetti and a congratulations card and we had a lovely view out over bay lake.
We splurged on a really nice bottle of wine and ordered appetizers. I had the crispy rock shrimp salad, DH had a flat bread. Both were divine. For dinner DH had, not surprisingly, the filet mignon and I had the scallops. His steak was perfect and almost rivaled Jiko's. My scallops came over a chesnut risotto and the whole thing was amazingly luscious. For dessert I had again, something chocolate that came with an awesome peppermint ice cream. DH had a cheesecake. Both were very nice and came out decorated with congratulations in chocolate on them. Also had a cappuccino and DH had his favorite cup of green tea yet.
We lingered over dessert and then got ready to head out onto the view platform to watch wishes. As we made our way from our table our waiter surprised us with two glasses of champagne to take outside with us which was very sweet. The platform was very quiet and this became by far my favorite way to watch wishes. The fireworks were great, the music piped in, a glass of champagne in hand. It was honestly the nicest meal experience of the entire trip and the perfect way to wrap up our last night.
