WDW to airport

On my day of checkout, I plan to go to AK, then I need to go to the airport to get a rental car (I'm staying in the orlando area after my WDW trip)

I know ME is free, but I just don't like the idea of being tied down to a particular time to tell ME that I'll be going to the airport.

What are some other ways to get to the airport without making a reservation? Renting a car on property and then dropping off at the airport is very expensive.

Options are pretty much taxi or private car service such as Quicksilver. I'd suggest pricing out which would be the best option - expensewise.

Have you considered picking up a car through the Disney Car Care Center rather than from the airport? That might make the logisitics easier. Not sure which company you are trying to rent from, though.

When I originally checked out the prices to pick up a car at car care and drop off at the airport it was a little over $200 to pick up on Thursday and drop off on Saturday vs. $59 to pickup and drop off at the airport. $140 was more than I was willing to pay for convenience.

Last night, somehow the pricing structure for Alamo changed (I checked again) and now it's like $85 vs $59. THAT I can live with, so I now don't have to worry about ME on my return trip.
