Question Trying to decide on a hotel for September???

Planning my next trip to Disney in September 2014. With my husband's new job, he is usually only home with us for a week a month, so I wanna make sure everything is close to perfect when we actually get to spend some family time. Out of the values, which is prob what I am gonna go with, because we spend very very limited time at the resort, we have stayed at POP 2x. Not sure if I wanna make the next leap to moderate especially for September, because some days are hot, some day cool...is it worth it? So that being said...the dilemma about the other values. My daughter expressed an interest in the MUSIC (she will be 17), I would love to stay in the new AOA, and my husband doesn't really care I guess.... I guess my fear is that the AllStars will not live up to POP? 1.The bus situation? 2.The food court? Any advice or experience with the All Stars or the new AOA?

If you are really not planning to be at the resort, except to sleep and maybe dip into the pool at the end of the day the value resorts are perfect. Have not stayed at AoA because of the $$. Maybe some day

We like all the values except Sports. We find the Sports a tad louder than the other values. I think the food courts offer pretty much the same items. We are park people and just want a nice, clean room to get some sleep and enjoy a shower at the end of the day.

Have a great time whatever you decide on

We typically stay value and made the upgrade to CBR last September. While I loved the resort, I didn't see it being worth the cost of the upgrade. We also spend limited time at the resort, so it just doesn't make sense to our family to pay more for just a place to sleep.

Out of the values I've stayed at Pop and AOA. I loved AOA - but had two concerns. First, we rent standard rooms (not suites) - since those are so popular they don't generally get the discounts. Going in September, free dining at a value can save a lot of money, that is something to take into consideration. Second, the standard rooms are the furthest out. To our family, it was too far. If they did offer the discounts, that would be my first choice though.

I've never stayed at the All Stars, but if you've stayed at Pop a few times and looking to try something new, why not?

For a value POP is the best. Look at POR Riverside. September would be GREAT there !! It's an incredible moderate, which offers plenty of shade and 5 relaxing pools to choose from on those muggy afternoon swims when you're taking a break from the park ! ! !

The value resorts are similar for the most part and if you are out running the parks, etc most of the days and nights they should b fine. They can be crowded and noisy and the rooms are small but the pools are fun and you get bus service which is a big plus.

If you can, definitely investigate the mods, especially if you can tie in a discount of some sort (they are out there!). We have done CBR and POR and both are visually nice, slightly larger rooms, food options, etc. Good luck wherever you choose to stay and ENJOY!!

Pop Century and Art of Animation would be the only two value resorts I would consider staying at these days. Stayed at All Star Sports and Music some years and didn't care for them--too loud/too much activity still going on late at night. If you are considering a moderate, take a look at Caribbean Beach Resort's rates, as they're usually a little less expensive than the other moderates.

I do a Diz trip every year around September. Last year went on the Dolphin website and got a screaming deal. (if it is going to be repeated this year its not out yet)

We spend the vast majority of our time in EPCOT and were just sick of an hour+ of bus time every day.

I know its not "Disney" but for the $$ i spent, coupled with the location, it was well worth it.

    Update to above.

The rate on Dolphin has dropped for Sep. Not as good as last year but less than a moderate at present pricing.

The rooms in the moderates are a bit larger. We used to splurge and go for the moderates due to the nicer grounds, we could go for walks/runs and the food courts were nicer. That being said we now go for the value resorts, all stars usually. They work just fine for us. Yes the moderates are lovely and magical but if you are spending most of your time elsewhere (parks, other resorts etc.) I would say stay the values and use the extra money to go out to some nice meals...thats generally what we do. And if you do end up spending any time are the resort the values do have everything you would technically need (pools, food court, paths to walk.) But I have many memories from Port Orleans riverside that I will never forget, all of the Disney resorts are magical too me.

We have stsyed at all the values. AoA is by far the favorite. Disney bus service was awesome. Food court was very good and clean. Themeing of the hotel was awesome. We were die hard Pop fans until AoA won't stay anywhere else.

Only positive to not getting special rates or discounts is that the resort isnt over crowded. Totally worth it.
