Default thoughts about Trex in DTD

We are going in Nov and wanted to try new restuarants so was wondering if this was a good place to go. My children are 7 and 4 and generally great about loud noises. But with that being said I just want to see how the general experience is.
    Thanks

I like it, the little one, now 6, liked it. Food is ok, a little expensive. It's LOUD though.

It's owned and operated by the same folks that do rainforest cafe. Food is very similar.

I enjoyed it although it is very similar to Rainforest Cafe and I would choose Rainforest over TRex. However, if you have boys they may enjoy TRex more.

We like it, as stated by others. it is very loud.
We prefer T-rex over Rainforest. T-rex food choices are more o our liking.

My kids loved it! We went for my son's birthday and the CMs made a big deal over him. A meteor shower happens every 15 min - which is part of the "loud' everyone is talking about in other posts, but it is pretty cool effect and the restaurant pretty fun overall. My kids loved it, as a grown up, yes it is a little pricey, but the portions are enormous. There is also a Build-a-Dino area. It's the same as Build-a-Bear but with dinosaurs of course.
BTW - The chocolate extinction dessert is fantastic and HUGE!!

My kids liked it too. They are boys and were 6 and 8 at the time. Food was better than I expected.

A must do for us every time we go. We have 2 boys and they wouldn't miss it. Menu is actually much larger than most places on the Dining Plan. Food is good too.

We took our 3 YO in Dec and loved it. It was LOUD, but that was kinda nice b/c I didn't have to worry about disturbing anyone around us and its such a fun atmosphere. He was amazed at the interior decor, and I was too. The food was decent, not that bad, just overpriced. We just walked up and were seated within 10 minutes, no reservations. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We would definitely go back. And he could have played in the dig site for hours.

We've always had good meals there. Not grand or over the top but very good. It's a fun place for the kids. !!!

We have been a couple of times and have enjoyed it! The place is loud, so be prepared. The food isn't bad either.

It is a fun place. Try it. You will like it!

My kids love it, especially my 3 & 5yo. The food is decent and while it is very loud, it's worth it for the enjoyment of watching the kids take it all in.

For our teenage grandkids and 4 old fogey senior citizens it was a "once and done". Loud, crowded and so-so food.

Do they accept ADRs? I can't find any available times on the WDW site. We were going to do Cape May for our arrival night but want to go to DTD instead. We hope to eat here or Rainforest, whichever has the shortest wait time or wherever we can get an ADR, if they take them.

You can make reservations via the restaurant directly for both Rainforest and TRex. They only release a very limited number of ADRs to Disney Dining.

I don't know if this was random or not, but the night we went, it was pretty crowded, and we didn't have reservations, but we only waited 10 minutes to be seated. If you can get reservations, then definitely do that, but we've had success just walking up.

It's a fun place. We're planning on going our next trip again.

It is indeed very noisy, but the atmosphere is fantastic! Portions are as bug as tthe dinosaurs are
Too many trips to keep track of now! Vacation WDW twice a year so any questions ask freely ☺️

It was fun my son 10 liked it. We just walked up and were able to get a table (that was the best part) The food was good, but yes it is a lot!!! We ordered an appetizer (“loaded” nachos) and by the time the meal came we were too full to enjoy it. I will skip that next time and go right for the meal. And the service was really good too
Been there, done that and going back!!! See ya real soon !!!
