Default Indiana Jones Show - Please Say It Isn't So...

Good morning. I came across a rumor on a couple of other sites on WDW parks that the Indiana Jones show at Studios is closing in January 2015.

On one of the other sites, there were postings from others who pointed out that these rumors popped up ten years ago and that this isn't true.

Every time we have gone to the park, the entire middle section of the theater is completely full and the right and left sections are 50-75 percent full. We have been there also where there is standing room only and even when they have turned people away for shows because there literally was no more room for anyone to see the show.

Our family loves this show. I sincerely hope that it remains, at least for a few more years. Our nine year old LOVES Indiana Jones and I am sure that there are many more out there who love the show.

Please share your thoughts and thank you in advance!!!

One of my good friends is the original Indy (he mostly plays the director now and trains the other Indys, only playing Indy once a week). There's been no word from him on this. American Idol is closing, but not Indy. I expect Indy will close once they have something better to replace it, but there's no such plans right now.

I wouldnt worry about it until its comes out the mouse's mouth officially. HWS is in no condition to close two attractions at once. At least I hope they realize that. There's hardly anything now there. Idol is offically closing due to contract being up I hear. Not to make room for Star Wars. I feel at some point Dr Jones will go. But for now take it as rumors.

Indiana Jone isn't closing in January 2015... People looking for clicks on their website decided to run with a false report... Nothing to it...

Do they still use the theater for cheerleading competitions, or have they moved that into WWoS now for good? I thought I read they have a contract with some organization for use of the theater for competitions through 2017... I could be mistaken...

TRICIA JONES: I heard that you were going to propose to Brandi Svenning at some theme park. When are men going to learn that women want ROMANCE, not Mr. Toad's Wild Ride...

BRODIE: Hey, now, be fair. EVERYONE wants Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.

If that is indeed where they put it. Only a rumor right now.

I hope they do clear it out one day for a Star Wars land. I would love for an Indy ride like at Disneyland to come to Florida

That's definitely not going to happen since Dinosaur is the same technology as the DLR Indy ride. They don't want to duplicate the ride (unlike Universal who has essentially the exact same ride experience with different footage in Spiderman, Transformers, and the new Harry Potter ride)

How many 3D shows and motion simulators does WDW have?!

Body Wars and star tours used the same tech. Every single 3D show uses the same tech.

    The could definitely import it.

I don't think they will, but I don't think the reason is to avoid having the same tech.

Well, I believed it too !! We just returned and made sure to see it. The theatre was standing room only. The show is so great, even though it's the same year after year....Good to know, but I will still see it again in November when we return !!!

EricJ it's pretty common knowledge that there are Star Wars Land plans all drawn up and ready to go if they ever get the green light. Will they ever? I hope so.

And I don't see a problem with duplicating ride technology. It would be a totally different ride experience. And it doesn't have to be a clone, make a totally brand new attraction based on Indy. I think it is a shame all they have is a show that has been there unchanged since the opening of the park.

I don't necessarily have a problem with duplicating ride technology if it's good. My statement was based on conversations with friends in management at DHS. It's been made very clear to them they are not going to transport the Indy ride from DLR to WDW because the suits don't want two versions of the same ride.

Actually, its more than just duplication of ride technology. The track layout of Indy and Dino are exactly the same...

That may be, but the experience is very different, I would love to have the Indy ride at WDW, it is one of our favorites at DL!

Well... The movies "happen" next December.

Big picture: Even if they announced a Star Wars land tomorrow, we are talking 7-10 years until completion.
