CBR rooms are the biggest of the mods actually - we stayed in them for this very reason.

I have been wondering about out the size of our CBR room for awhile. It was so small that one of the beds was so close to the wall that when the very small and skinny 9 yr old in our group exited the bed, she skinned her knees on the wall surface. The two beds were quite close together. The room, with two double beds, had less floor space than our POR room with two queen beds.

We must have had an odd sized room? I seems to me that it wasn't shaped square but had an angle on one wall.

While it never hurts to ask for a room close to Old Port Royale (food court, shops, main pool, etc.), please realize that you're asking for a free upgrade.

At Caribbean Beach Resort, the guest room buildings closest to Old Port Royale are called "preferred location." Preferred location is a separate room category from standard; it costs more. Therefore, getting one of the rooms closest to Old Port Royale isn't a matter of luck and isn't a matter of just requesting it, it's a matter of booking it and paying extra for it.

Preferred location guest buildings include all of Trinidad North (Buildings 31, 32, 33) and half of Martinique (Buildings 24, 25, 26).

If you're not willing to pay for preferred location, request one of the standard guest buildings closest to OPR. The following three standard guest room buildings are the closest to OPR and are exactly the same distance to OPR: Aruba 51, Jamaica 45; Martinique 22.

Are they done refurbishing? If not, anyone know how far along they are, what part is done? We are staying at CBR in 2 weeks. Thanks

We've stayed there several times over the years, and loved it. We really don't have any cons.

We usually stayed in Aruba. The walk to the food court was very nice. We didn't find the resort to be too big at all.

We plan on staying there next December. Booked the trip a week ago!
