Proposing at Magic Kingdom
Hey gang!
So my GF and I have been together for over a year now and I want to propose in front of the castle when we go down next month (Nov 15-17). Other than Buttons from Guest services and Photo pass pictures, is there anything i could request from guest services without purchasing a package of some kind? Example characters to be there when i offer the ring or some such.
Also, any ideas to make it even more magical? What did you or your other half do? I want it to be as awesome/amazing as possible but not destroy my budget.
Thanks

Does she like a lot of attention or is she pretty introverted? That may affect what you do.
I'll meet you at the Rainbow Bridge.

I'm just thinking out loud here.
Could you get in line for a meet and greet with her favorite character and then do the proposal during the photo? I'm not sure she has a favorite character that meets near the castle, but it's a thought.

There are youtube videos of people having the cast members and characters help them propose at the regular character photospots. To do it in front of the castle though, you would probably have to pay to have one of the characters be there.

You will more than likely have to book a character to be present, so expect to pay... Otherwise, if you really want the character interaction, propose at a character meet and greet... Watch videos online to get an idea of the interaction... Best interactions are with face characters, and mostly princesses, but most face characters provide awesome interaction... Watch other proposal videos to get an idea how others have done it... Disney will work with you on certain things for sure... Call ahead, speak to someone and see what you can set up....
Good luck and congrats!!!
Son of Jor-El.. Kneel before Zod...
TRICIA JONES: I heard that you were going to propose to Brandi Svenning at some theme park. When are men going to learn that women want ROMANCE, not Mr. Toad's Wild Ride...
BRODIE: Hey, now, be fair. EVERYONE wants Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.

So i tried to add a picture of the ring but i cant do it from my phone. If there is a way, I dont know it. LoL. So below is a link to the jewelry stores page for that ring. We looked at a lot of rings, supposedly as potential a Christmas gift from the Disney collection and she had a few favs but liked this the best. Its a Princess Jasmine ring.

I proposed in front of the castle on mainstreet. Just before the big center court, by the information kiosk. Did it first thing after rope drop so the fiance could get the just engaged pin, and watch her head crack from smiling the rest of the trip. B/c of that, we later honeymooned at wdw.

My son proposed at the wishing well by the castle. He did it right at noon when the fireworks go off.
Worked out well (no pun intended). That was a few years ago. He re-proposes every trip back. Last time it was with their son and daughter. I hope Disney becomes a part of your life, like it did ours.

Congrats - that looks really nice and fits for a Disney couple!
I think it would be cool if you'd do it near the flying carpets to fit the theme. And if you have the $$ - I would definitely look into booking a character from the movie to be there. You only do this once! Go big!

Have it set up like Aladdin stole the ring and security is chasing him. Then he passes it off to you and you propose. :P
or
He brought you something from the Cave of Wonders. He could bring it to you in front of the castle.
I'll meet you at the Rainbow Bridge.

If you can't afford a character, maybe you could wait until they are doing the fireworks and then ask her to be your Happily Ever After.
I'll meet you at the Rainbow Bridge.

Ok I love love love this idea. I dont know if I can do it but according to the MDE app, Aladdin and Jasmine are normally out at the same time. I MIGHT be able to convince one of them to run a skit like that. I think that would be super memorable. Thanks for the idea

There are youtube videos of people having the characters help them propose, so there has to be a way to have them do it. You'll just have to figure out how to contact them.
Let us know how it goes.
I'll meet you at the Rainbow Bridge.

So we leave in less than 12 hours. Going to be quite the adventure. Proposal on Sat. Super excited!
