DS2 is a software engineer. The first time he used the Disney app was when we got to the parks. The first thing he said was "this is awful." That told me a whole lot right there.
I'll meet you at the Rainbow Bridge.

My degree is computer science and my focus was on software engineering. I completely agree with your son. Their entire system is bad, really bad. The app was a complete train wreck at first and they have been pecking at it all along trying to fix it but it still has issues. It is just poorly designed. The biggest problem I see is they have multiple systems still in use, some of which are obviously outdated. All of the problems mainly stem from them trying to layer new software technology including the app and MDE online access on top of old existing systems. The way stuff disappears such as reservations and fastpasses or just gets messed up looks like they are using bridge programs to interpolate and access/move data from one system to the other. I bet their software is an absolute nightmare with multiple programming languages and old databases. I can only imagine how bad it is trying to work out all the bugs that keep popping up every time they try to fix one thing that results in three other problems. That is what you get when you try to go cheap and layer on top of old existing systems, especially if you use cheap, inferior labor to do so.

Now, I'm stressing....6 days out and still haven't gotten my DME info/yellow tag!!!
This is a first for me...Always had my yellow tags weeks ahead of my trip...Honestly
didn't even think about it until yesterday, getting my ducks in a row...
Guess I'll have to pick up my bag at the airport and (possibly) be late for MNSSHP!!!

Just remember that party goes on all night. Even if you get there a little late, you can still get in. No need to stress. Hop on that ME bus and enjoy the show.

Well here we go again. lol We have a trip coming up for a special event for cheerleaders and our daughter is going to be in a parade at MK. We have two rooms so we have two reservations numbers, one for each room. I have them linked to our MDE and at times they both show up. I went to order our magic bands and only one room was showing up along with the three people assigned to that room. I ordered those magic bands and then spent the next 45 minutes or so logging in and out and clicking around until finally the other room and guests showed up and I could order their magic bands. Guess what though, when that one appeared, the other room and guests disappeared. I can't get the system to show both reservations at the same time to save my life but I know they are both there because I can force it to switch between the two by logging in and out and going to and from the reservations page. It appears to be an issue with the MDE application communicating with the database.
I guess I have more problems than the average visitor though. Most of our trips tend to involve special events, more than one room and a couple of reservation numbers and multiple guests that have to all be linked. It does a fine job of exposing all the bugs and poor design of their system and it is extremely irritating to deal with.

Hey now.. IT devops just does what business leadership says... Blame them. Devops is just trying to make dreams a reality with insufficient number of dwarfs, a broken wand and an empty pixie.

Oh, I am WELL aware of that, my friend. That is my field of work as well. BUT, my projects are driven by corporate marketing and sales...Programmatically develop "to scale" product drawings based on user selections through an online interface.
My tag line for their ideas is: "And you want a left-nostril inhaler on that as well? No right-nostril, just left???"

Well, I don't understand all of this IT talk, but I will say that I won't complain about getting a code again. :P Working on people is way easier.
I'll meet you at the Rainbow Bridge.
