Do you still get to be the Flag Family if you are staying in the Wilderness Lodge Villas?

You can ask at check-in and if there are any available spots during your stay they will sign you up.

Thank you. I am trying to decide between the deluxe rooms and the villas for 7 of us. I do want a shot at being the Flag Family though.

The Flag Family joins the ranger one morning to the roof of WL for the raising of the flag. They used to do it at night for retreat too but that's been discontinued.

One of the most fabulous "outside the park" experiences we have had during our stays at WL. If there is not an opening during your stay, ask if you can be put on the wait list. We have been privileged to host as flag family on a few occasions, and each one has been very emotional for all of us. :mickey:

Oh I know I will bawl my eyes out. My oldest son was in the Navy. I want to do this so that I can see him raise the flag.

Can you ask beforehand or do you have to wait until you arrive?
You must wait until check-in to request it. They have a book at the front counter.
