I didn't even realize that the 40th anniversary is coming up so soon until you mentioned it. I guess I lost track of time.
I really hope Disney does something significant for this special occasion, but I remember that the 30th anniversary was basically ignored due to the 100 Years of Magic celebration that was going on at the time, so I'm not going to get my hopes up.
I'm a dad! My daughter, Eisley, was born on December 17, 2010.

1) I am sure they will celebrate.
2) At least as well as the 30th anniversary.
3) Or, not.

According to Jim Hill, they plan on starting the 40th celebration in Jan. 2011. This sounds kind of early, I thought they would wait until fall of that year. Maybe it will be a company-wide celebration. Hopefully, they'll announce the plans sometime next year.

Do people know that we missed the 40the anniversary of the The Brady's TV show?

If that's the case, it'll likely be around 15 months like other celebrations on that scale. If I recall, the 50th for Disneyland started in May of 2005, which was early, as the park's 50th birthday wasn't until July of that year. Considering the scale of WDW, I doubt they'd want to wait until October 2011 to kick this off and cash in on it.
Visits: Too many to count!
College Programs: 3
What's next? We'll see...

I think October makes more sense. Start it October 1, 2011, run though all 2012. But, as long as they celebrate it, I don't care when they kick it off.
Let's stop defending mediocrity out of Disney and hold Disney to the higher standard they set up themselves.

Just kidding ... but on a side note, is anyone besides me wondering when Jim Hill is going to write another article that someone actually wants to read?

I agree. They almost always start all of their WDW celebrations on the actual resort anniversary, which is October 1st.

Oh, is that why? I thought it was because that's my birthday.
