Smile Best and worst, week 2

So once again campers- what was good bad (and/or) Ugly about how YOUR team played today ?

    JETS
    For me:
Good: Defense wins again (Go JETS)
Bad: Injuries- we aren't deep enough in the secondary
UGLY : Backing up our words with solid play.
Now I just hope they realize there are 14 more games in the regular season

    Unhappy

Well, we currently are up to 19 straight losses. GO LIONS!!

On the bright side, I am sure the Vikings are really proud of their win! (sarcasm)

Thanks for stealing my good Donald, but I also liked how Farve was allowed to be Farve, and he goes out, 23 for 27, 155 passing yards, and 2 TDs. My other good: The Lions honoring longtime Tiger broadcaster Ernie Harwell as an honorary captain pregame. I've had the chance to correspond with Ernie, and he is a first rate broadcaster and person.

Bad: Well, we did fix the problems with the rush defense in the 2nd half. Outside of that, there's nothing that's really glaring needing improvement, just some minor timing issues between Brett and a couple receivers who missed the preseason.

    Cool

    For the Eagles:

GOOD: Kevin Kolb didn't look quite as bad as I expected he was going to. Also, I pretty much had the Eagles 1-1 after their first two games anyway, because I didn't expect them to beat both Carolina and New Orleans back-to-back.

BAD: Pretty much everything else. They got blown out, sustained some injuries to key players, their defense looked terrible, the special teams were a mistake-laden disaster, and the offense was poor in the red zone again.

    UGLY: See above.

Take comfort ... at least your team name doesn't start with "Tennessee!"

    Question for the Eagle fans:
Andy Reid came out today and said Kolb is the starter Sunday against Kansas City if Donovan can't play. Since Vick's now eligible, where would he fit into the equation?

    That remains to be seen.

From everything I've heard, the Eagles did not bring Vick in with the intention of his ever starting at quarterback. He's strictly going to be a Wildcat/gadget kind of player.

So my guess is our QB's for the K.C. game will be:

    1. Kolb
    2. Vick
    3. Garcia

The reason being, if they list Vick as the 3rd string QB once he comes into the game neither Kolb nor Garcia can play again and obviously they don't want that.

    DOLPHINS

Best- well, the defense was starting to look ok,

Worst- 15 minutes? Really guys? You lost the game with the Colts only having the ball 15 minutes? What the heck happened there? ARGH!

I have to agree that when 1 team controls the clock for 90% of the game they usually win. Some teams that can defy that stat are Indy (Peyton) and Patriots (Brady), Chargers(Rivers) and New Orleans (Brees). Hey guys (and gals) did I miss any ?
In ways I hate to see the fish lose, as I still like Chad Pennington, but you are a divison rival...

Have to COMPLETELY disagree. The defense was a sieve. Giving up 27 points in 15 minutes isn't ok...not by any stretch of the imagination.

    Here's my take:

GOOD: The running game. Brown and Williams were amazing, and add Cobbs to have a three-headed monster in the backfield. Allowed Pennington's play-action to work.

The O Line. Allowing only one coverage sack against Dwight Freeney and company is a solid effort, and they opened the holes for the running game.

Pennington. Once again he was sharp, and although his clock management left something to be desired, he did get the Phins in position to win the game, and made a beautiful throw to Ginn that should have been caught for the game winner.

BAD: Ted Ginn, Jr. When are the Phins gunna realize this is NOT an upper echelon receiver. He dropped two TD passes last night. One in the back of the end zone when he came up with a bad case of t-rex arms, and the second on the last drive on an easily catchable ball that a pro receiver doesn't drop.

The secondary. Swiss cheese at best. The only upside to the whole thing was that Manning is my fantasy QB.

Um, T.O. has dropped many a catchable ball...
But I guess that is just one reason he is in buffalo now...

Good: Giants won... 2-0 against Division and in first.

Bad: I hate night games. Fell asleep in the 3rd quarter, but woke up at the 2:00 warning to see the win. It's 10:25 now, past my bedtime... Good night.
