Default Doggie Pixie Dust for Maxwell

OK, I've tried to hold out from asking but our little Max is getting snipped tomorrow. I just dropped him off at the vet and he will have the surgery tomorrow. I'm really worried about him. Partly b/c he is so so dramatic. Angel (Here We Go Again...) and Sherrie (SgtTigger's wife) have seen him lay on the floor for a good 30 mins. or more and cry and whimper b/c we trimmed his nails. When he boards he refuses to eat and when he gets you would think he was dying- trembles, cries, and
If anyone has any spare puppy dust I'm sure he would appreciate it. We will too.
I hope Max does fine with his surgery.

I work at a Vet Hospital and can tell you that alot of animals are like Maxwell. It is better that you brought him in tonight. He will be more calm for the castration tomorrow. He should be able to return home to you tomorrow night, his cute little self. Good luck trying to keep him calm for the next 10 days. I'm sure you will be glad when tomorrow is over!

I saw this scroll by in the Intercot toolbar and just knew it was your pup! for you and Max - I'm sure he'll be fine but he'll probably play you for a while. I'm sure you won't baby or spoil him afterwards though! Good luck to you both!

Thanks everyone for your kind words and support. I think I'm being just as much a ninny as him WE love our vet, she has a great facility, computer monitors for surgery etc. but he's such a baby.

My dd works for a vet too! I doubt I will have trouble keeping him calm, he is very laid back. Most Yorkies are active and he just chills all day. If he drops his favorite toy off the bed he just cries for someone to pick it up despite that he can jump down and get it
I rarely watch TV and the other day I watched the children of 9/11 on Oprah and he started crying with the kids. He is a character.
I'm glad you think it's best we brought him in this evening.

OMG Beth, I can just see him now. He is going to whine and whimper for days. You do realize that you are going to have to hold him up to go potty.
It is not funny, but I can't quit laughing because I can just see him now....

Oh gosh -- you took me back.....We once had a Golden Retriever and after we had her fixed she just laid around for days acting so pathetic. I was certain she had some dire infection and took her back to the vet. After a thorough exam, the vet came out with a serious look on his face and said "Ma'am, it is my professional opinion that your dog here is a wuss" LOL. Just a drama queen -- Your Max will probably shop for loads of sympathy, but be just fine

By the way -- my current dog, Max, who also likes to play the sympathy card-- sailed through his snip snip with absolutely NO issues (however, his operation HORRIFIED my pre-teen son! Max was running around happy and my son was sitting on the couch with a glazed look on his face)

Here's some extra (and low drama) pixie dust for your puppy

I remember when we had Lilo fixed earlier this year and we picked her up -- the look on her fact almost screamed "Do you know what they did to me?"

My two fur babies, Rebel and Rascal, both send their best wishes to Max! I've gotten a chuckle out of a few of these posts.. hope Max recovers quickly and with very little to no drama...

Boys don't change. My son took Max aside before he left and said "Max, you know this means that when the boys hang out you won't be invited."
And Angel you may be right, I may need the instead of him.
Right now I'm nervously waiting for the vet to call.
Thanks again, you've made me laugh too and it helps with my worries. Rachel thinks he's dramatic b/c I baby him but I think she's jealous.

I hopr the surgery went well. I guess the good thing of him being so dramatic is he'll be easier to keep calm. It's never easy raising a furbaby. Good luck.

Our vet called and said Max was out of surgery but wasn't awake yet. She said he'll be fine.
Thanks all for the support, now we know why he's so dramatic b/c we fuss over him so much and he is super spoiled. but what do we have our pets for if not to spoil them.
My mom's pup Loci, a pom, had his surgery too. I guess I should have shared the but maybe it helped. The two guys went in together and Loci hadn't dropped at all and the vet thought he would need a more entailed (no pun intended) surgery. He is very hyper and the Vet said we should get a lottery ticket b/c when she calmed him w/ the meds his "donations for the surgery" came down enough so that she didn't have to go into the internal organs to look for them. Lucky for Loci!

Glad to hear Max (and Loci) both did well. Keep spoiling Max! I know the Dog Whisperer would disagree with us, but I'm with you... pets are to love and spoil!!!

Good -- the worst is over and now you just need to prepare for pampering him as he has his pity party for himself! LOL Been there, done that!

LOL -- ooo, I hope I don't get too graphic here, but to add.....after our Max started feeling better and acting like he wanted to play when he recuperated from his surgery, my dh was coaxing him and said "where's you're ball Max?? Where's your ball?" to get him to go grab his tennis ball and my DS, speaking for Max says "YOU tell ME, Jerk!!!!"

jenemmy that was so funny. I'm so glad I've always had females no evidence. So glad that max and loci both made it through surgery great. They do deserve to be spoiled after all the love they give us why not spoil them. Heck I've been baking doggie treats for the last 12 years they get cookies and they get birthday cakes. morefor a speedy recovery.
