So how's the evening? It's hot and sticky here, wish we had a pool I came home and cleaned up the house. Mike just got home so I don't know what the plan is for the rest of the night. I'll check in later, have a good, safe night.

Hello all... I figured it was time to come out of my shell and finally post on this thread. I've been reading it forever and I figured an update on Alex would be a good way to join in.

Last night Alex weighed 3 lbs, 13 ozs. He's still on room air and hasn't needed any oxygen (which is a small miracle for a 7 week premature baby). They took out his IV about 36 hours ago and he in now receiving all of his nutrition either through his NG tube or by nursing/bottle feeding. He's still in an incubator (Doesn't that make him sound like a chicken or something?), but will probably be moving to an open crib in the next day or so as he is very close to being able to maintain his body temperature without the heat of the incubator. Once he's in an open crib it will be a very short time before he's able to go home. The only thing left after that is making sure that he's able to get enough food from nursing/bottle feeding to keep gaining weight. He's still learing how to nurse, but everyday he's getting a little stronger and a little better at eating.

Keep up the pixie dust and prayers... they seem to be working some miracles. I have some more pictures in the camera and I'll try to get them up soon. Right now I can't keep my eyes open any longer so I'm going to take a nap before I head back to the hospital in a couple of hours.

Rachel, it is SOOO good to see you here!! I'm thrilled to hear our little Alex is doing so well... we'll continue the and prayers for all of you!!

How's the new house? Did Jym put everything away where it belongs? We need an address....

The trip in October is for us, to relax and take it easy, and to go to MNSSHP and the one in Dec, is to be with the JQU alumni. Now if we could figured out how to bring our scrapbooking stuff and have a scrapbooking party, that would be really fun!!! Gilles just told me they only allow so much bagage, so should I tell him he'll have to wear all his clothes at one time...when we fly down there and come back home!!??

He's never played mini golf before!!

Lot's of tiki torches and believe it or not Listerine sprayed around the pool. We've had great luck with keeping mosquito's away with Listerine.

SEE!!! It's not just us up in Canada!!! Harry had a hockey game tonight (they were shellacked!) and has another on Thursday night. It's so weird getting so cold when it is soooooo hot outside!

It was great today, the temperature was 88 when we went in with a dew point in the low 70's. The hockey rink was so refreshing.

I did. No broken bones but possibly ligament damage. The doctor put me in a brace and gave me a green light to golf once the pain subsides. She didn't say anything about softball. Can I get clearance from the JQ vet for my softball game tomorrow night?

We're doing good... tired of course. It's really hard to get enough sleep because of shuttling back and forth to the hospital. Once he comes home it should be a lot easier.

As far as unpacking goes... not so much. The kitchen is starting to come together (isn't that the most important room?) but the rest of the house has a way to go. It's driving him crazy, but I figure it'll get done when it gets done and stressing over it doesn't help.

Listen, it's your funeral. Boy, that sounded very doctorly didn't it? Actually, if nothing's broken you're probably ok, you'll be sore and it might take longer to heal if you keep using it for "sports" type things.

So Mike and I went to Petco tonight. I could have spent hours in there looking at everything. We kept looking at the salt water fish, they're so pretty. They had these cute little fish that skirted along the bottom and had the funniest little faces, I could have watched them for hours. Mike had to drag me out with dog bones and some fish food. I wanted a lot more though.

So I'm off to bed. Blythe, try to stay awake tonight, sending you some double mocha latte something or other (can you tell I don't drink coffee?) to keep you alert. Take care all

OK, I've done a load of laundry (Robert started a new job last Monday, and he only has 2 shirts so far (the city provides them), so I have to wash every couple of days until more arrive), and loaded the dishwasher, and I wiped down all the countertops in the kitchen and swept and mopped in there, then I also cleaned the toilets, and vacuumed all the carpeted rooms, and pulled a few weeds in the backyard as well. Oh, and somewhere in there I also cooked dinner for myself and ate it. Can I go to sleep now?

Our "kitties" (brother & sister) turned one year old today!! (DD13 has been tracking this on the calendar for at least 2 months!
