    Default Cabins

Ok we are planning a trip in Oct for a group of 6- 5 adults and 1 child age 7- will we be ok for the cabins? Also are the internal busses ok to use instead of the golf carts? That would add another expense that I would rather avoid. Thanks for all the help.

The cabins would be tight for five adults. The configuration of the cabin is one bedroom with bunk beds as well as a pull down Murphy bed in the living room. There is one bathroom with could be difficult with that many folks trying to get ready all at the same time. I'd suggest two rooms in a value or moderate instead.

Golf carts are not required. I've stayed in the cabins a number of times and have never rented a golf cart.

you could squeeze 5+1 into the cabins but it would be a squeeze...and unless I was going to the cabins with the primary idea of being able to save a bit on food costs by eating meals in the room instead of in the parks, I too would be very much inclined to go with the two rooms at a value....where you would not only have more space, but two bathrooms.

You also have to consider that there is only one bathroom. I think it would be rather difficult for 5-6 adults to get ready with one bathroom.

We have stayed in the cabins with 4 adults, 2 kids for the past 5 years and have had no problems. Some of us shower at night and some in the morning. There is an area in the back bed room with a mirror and plugs for people to get ready. We never have had a problem and love staying in the cabins. We also are never in a rush. Rushing will just get you frustrated.

I agree with you 100%. Cabins are for WDW guests who are on vacation.

I will add this about the bathrooms. The water heater in each cabin is TINY. 20 gallons I think.

Now, granted, I am a loooong shower taker, but I always ran out of hot water by the end of my 10 - 15 minute shower. We had to wait about 20 - 30 minutes for DH to be able to get in the shower.

Not a problem if you're not in a rush, but if you all want a shower at the end of the day, or in the morning, it could take 3 hours for all 5 of you to shower with hot water.

As far as sleeping goes, I think you'll be fine as long as 2 groups of "2" don't mind sharing a bed. Put one group of 2 on the double in the bedroom, one group of 2 on the murphy bed and then one on each bunk in the bedroom. Have a great trip no matter where you stay!

We regularly do 4 adults and 1 child. The 5th adult could make it interesting, but my suggestion would be as follows:

    2 in bunk beds
1 adult + 1 child in full bed in bedroom
    2 adults in murphy bed

It might be a bit tight that way, but not uncomfortable. We have rarely had a problem with showers getting cold. I have walked up to the public showers (for tent campers) a time or two if necessary. But it goes along with the feeling of being in the campground, etc.

I love it there, and highly recommend it!

    Default Cabins

The cabins is our favorite place to stay. Never needed a golf cart. Depending on where your cabin is (try to get close to a bus stop - hint check the maps). We stayed with four adults and two children and it worked out fine. We enjoy the peace and quiet - kids enjoyed chasing the anoles (little lizards). I definitely recommend!!!!

But the Bath Houses have all the hot water you want, they are only a short walk, and they are the cleanest, nicest bathhouses I have ever experienced in any campground, anywhere.

We most recently stayed in the cabins with 2 adults and our four hulking (and smelly) teenage boys. Knowing that the bathroom would be our only problem, I stayed on my favorite loop (Bobcat Bend) and chose a cabin that was right next to the path to the Comfort Station on the next loop. It was only a 20 yard walk at the most from our porch to the comfort station -- bathroom congestion solved. DW got the cabin bathroom, and we had the comfort station. The bunkroom worked well for our four boys (rotating between the two bunks, the bed, and one on the floor), but it would be tight for four adults.
