Yes, that's correct. The dates just after Thanksgiving through mid-December, which have been value season dates for years, are now in the "fall season" for 2011.
The rate for a standard view at one the moderates increases from $149 to $164 for early December dates (2010 to 2011). Now get this, a tower room at the Contemporary (MK View) increases from $440 to $490 per night for early December, again 2010 to 2011 - A $50 per night increase!

Le Cellier is NOT worth 2 dining points at all...but it will keep the the volume down. I honestly don't get what the hype is all about with this place. The last time we went there, I had one of the most worst cooked pieces of prime rib ever. Turf Club is much better for prime rib and they will still be a 1.
As for the dining plan, interesting how they removed the juice allowance. Pop Century was allowing you to sub a snack for the second beverage; we would leave our home resort and go there if we were getting breakfast on the dining plan. I was hoping they would incorporate that into the plan instead since it was stupid to get two drinks especially if you purchased a mug. If we purchase the dining plan, we will not use any counter services for breakfast because the value is not there like it is for a lunch purchase.

Pretty much everything from the beginning of October thru Christmas is this new "Fall Season" (less holiday weeks - Columbus Day, Thanksgiving...)
You can figure that this is a function of the Food & Wine Festival, cooler weather, and Pop Warner.
Certainly can't expect Disney to NOT take advantage of increased bookings over this time period!!

Where do you get the information on the seasons? I am booked for 4/16/2011, which is the week before Easter and I am wondering if that is a holiday season week.
Thanks.

Thanks.
You can find the seasons for 2011 on the Walt Disney World website. Just locate the resort you want rates at "places to stay" There will be an icon for "room types and pricing". Then you'll see a drop down bar for the different seasons (2010 and 2011).
Looks like the dates for Easter rates are 4/17-4/30/2011

the gift the keeps giving...less?
It doesn't bother me so much that the prices go up, after all, Disney is expensive, but we go for the quality, the magical, special experience.
I must say, though, I don't like feeling you pay more AND get slightly less each year. We lost the appetizer. We lost tips included. We lost Le Cellier. We lost a beverage. And yet we pay more each year. And have newer options to pay even more!
I think I will skip the DDP next time and see how much I spend ordering what I actually want to eat and tipping what I think is reasonable to tip. I did like paying in advance, but not sure it feels like I am getting something anymore.

Alright, I hate to admit it but, until I saw the title of this thread, it had never occurred to me to ask for a AAA discount. I mean, never...in all the times I've visited Disney. Uh...yikes. I feel pretty stupid, right now. So, anyway, a couple of weeks ago, I booked a trip for my husband and I to stay at the Beach Club-Club level in Oct. (for the Food and Wine Festival). I saw this thread and thought, "Gee...if the 2011 AAA room-only discounts are out, that means they must have discounts for 2010!" Genius, I know . So I called and asked for the discount to be applied to my reservation. I saved over $300. Well, at least now I know.
Nice work, pal.

Let me know if you can find them online, maybe you have to call.

For AAA you have to call. With date specific pricing they are not a blanket price.

I agree completely. Not only that, but figure in such things as Fantasmic only being performed on select nights. I too understand increasing costs, but I don't understand increased costs COUPLED with decreased benefits/offerings. The value that was Disney is slowly being whittled away each year. And to me, the value we received for what we paid was part of the "Magic". So sad that it is slowly disappearing

What is the difference between the deluxe premium and platinum? And am I incorrect but have they put the appetizer option back in?

Don't know about the Deluxe Premium and Platinum, but I believe the Deluxe DDP always had the appetizers as part of the plan. Only the Standard DDP dropped the appetizer.
(Just double checked the 2010 documentation---Deluxe DDP always got the appetizer for Lunch/Dinner)
WOW!! Just looked at the Premium DDP -- 3 meals per day (breakfast | lunch | dinner) + 2 Snacks + Mug ..... AND THERE ARE NO 2TS MEALS!! EVERYTHING IS CONSIDERED A 1TS MEAL!!!! There are recreation and tour options available with this "package."
Looks like the Platinum DDP is the same as the Premium, but there are more recreation and tour options that are available. Accommodations at Deluxe or Deluxe Villa ONLY!

Not true. We are able to book AAA room only rates. Only AAA may book AAA packages, you cannot even get those by calling directly.

I can't figure out why Le Cellier is so popular and what is so great about it that it is 2TS now. We weren't very fond of it and certainly wouldn't use 2 TS for it. I guess the change in the breakfast CS was coming because it was confusing on our last trip that we got 2 beverages but only 1 at lunch or dinner. It was more than we could drink but always got the extra beverage and took with us to the parks as a snack.
