Thanks for the pictures, Christine. What a strange experience.
We went Wednesday night. It was not crazy at all.
Lots of people were saying that they were riding it because it was closing.
I got my 4 year old daughter to ride. My 6 year old refused based in the word "scary" in the name of the ride.
For me, I am okay with it closing. I enjoyed my last ride, but it can't compare to my memories of riding it as a child.

I'll miss it as well. It's a familiar -- a Magic Kingdom original. It's one of the few attractions in Walt Disney World that seem to have a piece of Walt himself in it.
Still, it's far from an ambitious dark ride, especially when compared to true classics like The Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean. I think we can agree on that. I just don't see losing Snow White's Scary Adventures as a significant loss (although I understand the outcry, because people feel emotional about every Disney attraction).

While I agree with you, in fairness, there are no other attractions that compare with Haunted Mansion and Pirates.
I think both of those attractions are, without question, the absolute pinnacle of Imagineering. Which is sort of sad when you think about it, considering both are 40+ years old.

So Sad to see it go was personally one of my favorite rides at Walt Disney World and I wish they weren't getting rid of it. I m so sad that are getting rid of the ride it was one of the originals. But hey you can't stop the change .... Thank You for posting the pics I was actually planning on going this May so I could ride it one last time. But Sadly I couldnt go its a shame!

Fair enough. I think I'd put Splash Mountain (when operating properly) and Disneyland's Indiana Jones attraction in the same category, but they're both thrill rides that inherently limit their audience.

i will definitely miss this ride. i think it's a little hard to say goodbye to rides (whether they are "good" or "bad"). i mean, mr. toad was a little silly, but i still miss it. fond childhood memories.... but i won't dwell on the past... i have to agree with WDW-Geek:

Mmm ... I agree both of those are excellent attractions, but if you stop and think about it a bit I don't think you could realistically rank either one of those quite up with Pirates and HM.
The theming and attention to detail in Pirates and the Mansion are just epic. When you first come down the falls in Pirates and you float out into the battle sequence it's pretty darn hard to convince yourself you're inside.

There's a wonderful story about the last rider on Snow White... a boy with autism who has ridden it over 3000 times for over 9 years now.

I will say this: The Disneyland Pirates of the Caribbean is the single greatest attraction ever made by anybody anywhere. It's actually difficult to enjoy the one in Florida knowing that this other version exists a few thousand miles away.

Not sure I'd go so far to say it's the greatest attraction ever, but it's definitely up there and WDW version is such a letdown after DL (and even Tokyo for that matter).
What a nice story on the boy riding SWSA.

i took the boat from WL to see how MK was that night before my dinner at AP...just walked thru

Love the pictures, thank you!
Before our last trip we had never ridden this one. Made sure to hit it last Oct. knowing we wouldn't get another chance. Really glad we did it! Can't say we loved it, but it did have a certain charm.

There is a link to the fathers blog in the article. Beautiful story.

I'll accept that -- I haven't been to Tokyo. But it's the best I've been on stateside. I'd put it ahead of the Potter ride.

Yep. I totally agree. It's a shame WDW got the watered down version they did. I'd love to have the DL version in FLA.

It's tough to say greatest "attraction", because there are so many different types. Thrill rides, dark rides, spinners ... but I would feel comfortable saying it's the best themed dark ride ever made. Of course, I haven't been on every themed dark ride in the world lol

I am kind of wistful that it will be gone, but I understand that that is a valuable piece of park real estate.... It wasn't a "must do" on our most recent trips, but I am glad that the last time we were there in 2010, I rode it, and without any technical difficulties!!! I hope the art work will be preserved and incorporated into some other area, possibly at POP. It would be very sad to lose the vibrant images of a film that was part of the bedrock upon which Disney was built.
