For us it was Artist Point and Le Chefs de France.
AP - food was bad to meh, service was downright horrible, table was stuck between a big wooden pole and the windows facing a deck full of folded chairs back toward the far corner of the room. Overall we gave the experience a D-.
Le Chefs - food was just plain bad, service was good. Nearly raw scallops, half-frozen/half soggy cream puffs, and spongey fillet (yes... it was springy and spongey and loaded with fat and gristle). When DH pressed down on it, it sprung back up into it's original position like a Nerf ball! Another D-.

Your opinion just pushed me over the edge. I decided to cancel Chefs and go with the Safari Lunch at AK. That way, even if the food ain't good, my kids will like the characters.

For my part, overrated means one of two things;
1. not as good as reviewed
2. not worth the money you pay
in that order.
1. Le Cellier (its good, don’t get me wrong but Shula's is 5 minutes away, no contest)
2. Cindy's. This borders on extortion.

As a few others have said, I've never had a meal I disliked at WDW. Every meal has been at least acceptable-some downright "Wow!" That being said, 2 disappointed us as overrated-Chef's de France and Kona. They were just OK, but not as great as some people say.

My wife and I feel that the California Grill is the most overrated restaurant at WDW. We didn't like the menu, the noise level was similar to a Rainforest Cafe or T-Rex and the food just wasn't that good.
We've never really been wowed by any restaurant at WDW. We don't go anywhere for dinner anymore, because the prices are laughable. We eat a lot of dinners offsite. The food is just as good and it's a lot easier on the wallet.

I gotta add my voice to the Le Cellier chorus. Why I do like certain aspects of the meal, overall its just average and not worth all the adoration. Also, I found the interior awful as I feel like I'm eating in a dungeon.

Considering how difficult it is to secure an ADR, I don't think Le Cellier is THAT good.
Don't get me wrong, I think it's good, just not on the level of a Flying Fish, Jiko, or California Grill.
The way it books up so quickly, you'd think Jesus Christ himself was the chef.

I agree with the poster waaaay back that said Garden Grill. I had been excited to eat there since I was 3, and miraculously everyone forgot to mention how HUMID it is! The air from the rainforest scene of Living with the Land is pouring in while you're trying to eat, and if it wasn't for my ice cold sangria, I wouldn't have been able to stand it. The food was alright I guess...if it had been about half the price...
I don't know what it is with Disney food lately. Even at the higher end places, it's getting more and more like CAFETERIA food....ick.

CRT breakfast...for 2TS credits...so not worth it. My girls (twins who were 7 at the time) didn't even give a rats patootie about the characters either. My DS (who was 9 at the time) was miserable.

This is just for the food, not the atmosphere.
California Grill has disappointed me twice with dinner and dessert. The place was VERY loud, and not because of the fireworks and music from MK, which we could not hear.
We finally went outside to enjoy the show, part of the reason we booked the restaurant in the first place.
Just Jill.......

DW and I found the California Grill to be overrated.
Like others have said, the restaurant is loud.
The food was just ok, not worth the cost in my opinion.
The service started out fine, that was until we did not order wine with dinner. At that point, the waiter's attitude changed noticeably, from seemingly nice to indifferent at best.

I'm with you on Tony's & Mama Melrose. I also have to add Le Cellier.
At Mama Melrose & Le Cellier we didn't have bad food, it was just not good enough to want to go back.
Tony's was the only place in Disney that I can say our food was bad.

After our recent trip, I would have to say 1900 Park Fare. If not ont he dinign plan, I would have been upset paying out of pocket. Standard breakfast, standard desserts, poor service.
Great character interaction. Mary Poppins was so sweet as well as Alice. Mad Hatter was also great!!

I just thought of another one that was over-rated, or at least overpriced for the amount of food-Brown Derby.
