Anyone ever stay here? My father is retired Air Force, and as a retiree he can stay here. The site states what is needed to prove he was Air Force. However, what can anyone who has ever stayed here tell me about the resort. Positives, negatives.

You're dead if you aim only for kids. Adults are only kids grown up, anyway.

We're staying here right now, oddly enough. (Though I can see this reply's well over a year late on this...)  The price is significantly lower than any of the big 3 - GF, Poly or Contemporary - for 4 nights it's under $700 for this trip, and under $800 for another trip we're planning in August. (E-6 rate.)  The rooms - they're large, 450 sq ft. We've stayed at Port Orleans, the rooms there were much smaller.

On the downside, they're rather dated. The bathrooms - I don't think they've been updated really since the place was built - but that's not a problem for us at all. At the end of the day, I want a hot shower and a clean bed - and this place provides. 9.8 out of 10, a bit off for the old bathrooms.

Facilities? They're great. A good number of options for food, and coffee in the mornings. (Who says there's no such thing as a magic potion, anyway?  Caffeine's the closest thing I've found...)

There's an AAFEEs Exchange on site - lots of Disney items, and if you're a pin collector they've got pins at roughly a third of the price at the parks, though a rather limited selection.  Also a limited selection of foot care stuff - you'd think they'd have a lot more of that, lol...

They have a Ticket office on site - so if you need a last-minute mil-discount ticket you should be able to get it there. I figure you've already heard about the $500 military annual pass - I don't know if they sell them there or not, I got ours a bit more locally.

There is bus service to the parks. Good points: MK's TTC is about 5 minutes away. They run every 20-30 minutes depending on time of day. Bad points: They 'share' parks, so to speak. If you want to go to Epcot, you go to MK and take the monorail there. Yay!  The end of the night at TTC WILL be crowded, and the bus runs every 20-30 minutes, so be prepared to wait a long time.  AK and HS going out were on the same bus yesterday, stopping at AK first where we almost filled the bus with folks going back. We were the only ones who got off at HS - but we were late to the park. Lol - we don't do rope drop any more.

If you get here before your room's ready, you can drip off your luggage and go hit the parks - they'll let you know when your room's available. (Which for us was right after we got on the bus to MK. Lol...)

One thing though - you can't link your room to your Magic Band. DOD runs this resort, not Disney, so you can't put your room key on the Magic Band.

Will we stay here again?  Oh, yeah. We're already booked for August - and maybe October and November for the parties!

Have fun!
